Easy with gentle hills. Well groomed. And while we didn’t see any, we were certainly aware of sharing the trail with moose.

Easy short hike with kids, ages 4 and 7 years old. Trail was in perfect condition. The beaver dams were impressive.

Get ready for some elevation gain! The weather was a bit cold at the top. The way up is warm because you’re working. Lots of rocky steps. But the views at the top were absolutely beautiful. Ps no dogs supposed to be on the trail!

Fantastic trail! Took about 3 hours up and 1 hour down. Ventured a mile or so past the actual trail end onto higher peaks. The views are incredible. No one up there but us. Love it when no one is in the trail! Patches of ice here and there. Moose encounter. Lynx encounter. This one says moderate and I’d say this could be hard for most. You’ve got to do this trail! This trail has been blessed.

Off the bucket list epic trail! I snowmobiled in March. I was the safest way with a private guide. Be careful lots of people get stuck crossing the river very dangerous.

easy trail. I like coming in From the Parks HWY side and ending in the Park. It's a steady 9 mile hike one way. Hiked it 10 different times in the summer of 2019. Saw Porcupines and moose. All 3 lakes have some great spots to rest and take in the views. Bring snacks and a good attitude :)

Did the trail about 3 weeks ago, it is a small trail but in the winter it can be very peaceful and nice, also didn’t see many people around. the lake was completely frozen and you can actually walk on it as well as the river. Did find tracks of animals but didn’t get the chance to see any. Easy and beautiful trail.

Dog sledding expedition

Did the trail in Aug 2019. Effort to reward ratio is max in this one as this one is an easy hike with breathtaking views. I was awed by the beaver dams. These fellas are so hardworking and build these amazing dams. There are multiple viewpoints with amazing views. Loved this one.

I went up 20 Jan 2020 for a quick hike. MLK was free day in the park!! Beautiful trail and great views! The trail is snow packed all the way up and I made it with just standard hiking boots with no issues. I did use Yak Tracks on the way down and would suggest some sort of micro-spikes for the steep sections. My Garmin Instinct clocked an 800' elevation gain so i'm not sure if the main description is correct or my watch but the hike didn't seem too bad though it is obviously steep in spots, I do find the 1600' may be an exaggeration. All in all a great day out and helped to subdue the cabin fever!!

Did this hike atleast 4 times this past spring and summer. It’s is beautiful! Just short enough for a quick hike, but leads to amazing views. Most times it is rainy at the top but you can usually still see (just check the weather). As I would say this is very moderate- it took my husband and I about an hour and 45 minutes to do. However, if you are not in hiking shape and able to handle inclines quickly- expect around 3 hours or more. I have brought guests who are not used to Alaska Hiking and it took almost 4 in some instances!

At first I was a little nervous to try to conquer this trail with it covered in snow, but it’s a very well marked trail and was very easy to follow, even in the snow. The views are some of the best I’ve seen here in Alaska. I could even see Denali way off in the distance! I used snowshoes most of the way up, switched to microspikes near the top as the path gets more narrow and requires more precision, and then came down in microspikes as well. It took just over 3 hours with stopping along the way and taking about a 20 minute break up at the top. Overall, it was one of the best hikes I’ve done!

Deep ❄️ but well packed. Couldn’t make it to the end due to snow depth. Beautiful views with over a foot of snow ❄️. Only a few icy spots. It took me 4.5 hours round trip, but i’m an out of shape 67 year old, took a few rest stops.

Amazing views. Beautiful hike

Very good hike. Not so tiring. Went to see the beaver pond. It was amazing how these animals do their thing. Hubby and me did not see any person. Truly enjoyed.

Made this trail yesterday. It was an easy walk. We combined a bit of taiga trail, meadow view connector trail and roadside trail.

Great trail! I recommend starting the hike along the river and then go off trail to get back in the trail to continue to the top. you are gaining quite a bit of elevation in a short amount of time, trail starts off just going up and you’ll feel it (especially already not being a little sore). Weather was damp and misty at the bottom, by the time I was getting to the top, the wind and snow were setting in, was walking through a solid 6-8 inches when I turned around to return back to the mist at the bottom. I’ll do this one a couple times with different variations and distances.

Nice walk. Not a hike. LOTS of evidence for beaver activity, but we didn’t see any beavers. Great hike for families with kids.

Obviously this is past tourist season, therefore I thoroughly enjoyed my hike. It has its ups and downs ;), but seriously it’s a nice quick route if you’re looking for something short, but want to feel accomplished. I ended up continuing past the peak for a bit, which I would’ve continued to do so to reach high altitudes and get a solid 14-15 miles however the weather was not cooperating, expectingly due to the time of year. I took this route back down and added on with a couple of the quicker/shorter routes at the base to continue the experience. I know I was long winded but overall I enjoyed the trail for a quick after work hike. Not sure if if I would enjoy this in high season however as a full disclosure. Views are great - even when the fog rolled in!
