Really pretty and sunshine hits all day on trail. Not a hard hike but it is longer if you’re hiking and not on fat bike or xskiing.
Also, you have to shuttle cars. Park at prospect and end up at flattop parking lot or vice versa.

Ussally do this a couple times a year. Super windy up top but not to icy. Kathoolas still recommend.

Busy winter trail with many fat tire bikers. First few miles are easy, but the last mile to Near Point Peak is hard. Overall great hike, great views, and great workout.

Can bike to the end of the Wolverine trail cut off from Prospect parking lot.

Great place to get out in nature but many much better hikes available all around the area.

We went on a fight day! Have to go back when the sun is out!

Good hike, nothing technical. Would be better if the suns out. Today it was cloudy and nothing to see but clouds. The café at the trail head was open which is nice for after a hike. Dogs welcome. There are several trails leading up the valley from but all lead up, so pick one and follow it. From the top of the saddle to the summit, its a little steep but nothing to crazy. Hiking in the clouds made it seem like several false summits. But after about 20-25 minutes I finally made it. Hopefully next time the suns out.

Great after work hike!

Steep. Beautiful view

Great views all around from the top! Not a lot of traffic which was perfect for me and my pup.

Very nice trail. Had a bit of trouble finding the trail. Some private property and Military signs confused a bit. Ounce you are past that what a treat. Nice views all the way up. On top good view of city. Enjoyed the hike.

Good hike, the trail to the base of the mtn is groomed. Ski's would have been a lot of fun and super easy coming down.

Really enjoyed how peaceful this hike is. Its a quiet peak compared to the busy Mt. Rendezous trail if you take the right at the saddle. Its a nice place to get a good view of the South Fork valley or Anchorage.

Steep. Not easy

Sunday, June 19, 2016

I would not consider this an easy hike. When I think of easy, I think about taking kids less than 10 with me and having them be able to do the whole trail. I'm not sure this would be an easy hike for a younger child. This gets quite steep and gravely at the very top. It's also on MILITARY LAND and you have to have a pass to get up here. Additionally, this trail is highly used by bears and bicyclists - so be aware of both.

Completed a trail ride on my mountain bike from Glen Alps Trailhead up Powerline Pass, over the pass and down the backside into Indian Valley. I am not positive that this trail is the one we were on for the back portion of the trip as there was not any trail marking or signage. It was an awesome ride from the pass to Indian with larger rocks, gravel, and some scree on steep angled trail with switchbacks. Trail was pretty well maintained, we did find a large gully near the bottom of the descent which we had to avoid not to ride into full speed. After the downhill we rode through small creeks and drainages on the way to the road/highway destination.
