well we started out trying to hike the Land Trust Loop but we ended up making our own loop. the old railroad bed is extremely rocky but also pretty cool. we met a man on the trail who gave us some nice information regarding the old railroad and made us appreciate the history more. all in all it was our first time on the land trust and we really enjoyed it! thankful for an organization committed to conserving, preserving, and protecting!

The caves are only open with permission or a special event. I don’t even know where to get permission or when an event is. Waste of a 2 hour drive.

It was fun!!!

To anyone who would like to attempt riding this I hope you come across this first and I would strongly advise against it unless you'd rather walk more than you ride, there is one really cool feature on bluff line trail in the middle of this loop that's insanely fun to ride but otherwise it's awful

Nice, lush, fairly flat 5k loop. The deer in the area are not afraid of humans! I was able to get so close to one, I was certain it was a large lawn ornament!

This trail is well maintained and well marked. There are a couple good overlooks and a lot of wildlife to see. I hiked this with a friend and we even spotted a young male deer.

IF YOU SEE RED MARKERS you are not on Waterline. Easy to get turned around. Go back and find the trail again. The map on this app is invaluable. Other than that, fantastic hike. I’ve gone down Alms to Three Caves and back a good number of times but never did this loop. It’s much better. But beware that starting down Waterline is VERY steep.

hey guys this is not kid friendly I am not very happy this took a very long time it is not fun if you are strong enough to then go for it I am just giving you all a warning it is very hard I can almost not catch my breath

Good easy hike with the kids!

Gorgeous trails on the loop. Have many options to make it as easy or hard as you like. Definitely one of my favorites.

great trail.lots of trails that connect with others witch can create some confusion.well worth a day in the woods.

Easy, flat and to the point. Nice trail if you wanna get a good walk/run in. Lots of overlooks along the way and marked really well.

Awesome trail

I really enjoyed this trail. Found lots of geocaches along the way, too.

loved it, until Tollgate Trail from High Trail back to the parking lot. glad I had ankle support! very, very, very rocky.

This is my favorite set of Land Trust trails. Alms House is a pleasant walk through quiet woods down to Three Caves, then Waterline wakes you up (and up and up and up) with its climb to Bluffline. There were no ropes when I went last week, and ice on the rocks made for a tricky scramble. Bluffline lets you get your breath back as you head to the parking lot.

Rugged trail, but beautiful and worth it.

This would make for a great running trail - if you're into that sort of thing.

Storm damage on the trails. Make sure you have ankle support.

Beautiful, fun and a great workout!

I would rate this more moderate than easy. Toll gate has a steady incline for at least a mile and it's very rocky. It's a very nice hike.

This was a fun but challenging trail.....especially for the inexperienced hiker. The Waterline trail that connects off the Bluffline is no joke! Steep and slippery climb. There are some ropes to hold on to for the ascent, but not the entire way up!!

Starting at the Land Trust Parking lot yields many variations of trails. There are many unmarked trails on the map and all are very easy. This is the most direct route to the north side overlook of Monte Sano State Park if starting at the the Land Trust parking lot.

5 stars for what it is; a nice meandering trail that is not overly technical.

Waterline is very steep and is very slippery after a rain. Next time I would like to start on Alms trail so I can climb up Waterline instead of going down. Altogether a very fun hike.

Not well marked but a nice challenge in an urban environment. Short, technical.

My tripod dog and I did this and had a great time. It was very easy for both of us and gave him a couple of places to splash in shallow water. We ran into other hikers, runners, and bikers.

A nice hike. As others have mentioned, the Waterline trail is steep. I banged my knee on the way down and hiked the rest of the trail with a bloody knee. Overall trip took me about 2 hours to complete.
