I tried giving this a 1 star but my review was deleted, trail markings we're confusing, I'm not sure I completed the correct trail. trails cross each other, or unmarked trails spur off at different intervals. was a fun hike but not a great place to log completed trails.

Nice trail easy for the kids

I'm not sure I did this whole trail. There are a few discrepancies in the actual signs posted and the info here. We were looking for the loop trail (not Kings Chapel) and map coordinates took us to Terrell trail which landed us at the Kings Chapel grave yard. From there we took the rest of the Kings Chapel Trail loop to go back to the road. Really pretty trail. I personally would rate it more easy than moderate. We'll do this one again in the future and hopefully sort out some of my confusion.

My son and I had a great time hiking this and another trail. not to much wildlife but it was the middle of the day, however we did see deer tracks. I have to agree that the signage could have been better, also parking, we saw trailhead signs but no pulloffs, we did see where other vehicles had pulled off on the side of the road and we did the same. Overall 4stars.

OK trail. A few good size trees have fallen over the trial at several points. The latter half of the trail was overgrown. Good change of elevation throughout.

Should have read Marshal's review. Everything was peachy until we reached the waterfall rocks. What the actual hell. We finally backtracked to the road and called it a day.

The trail was very poorly marked and somewhat overgrown once you got to the cascade part of the trail. As a result there were several times that we got off the trail and had to backtrack two or 3 times. The biggest problem is I was following the trail on my phone but at the bottom where you start up the hill and along the rock where the water should flow, the trail indicated here is not accurate. The line follows the rocks/water flow but the trail actually only crosses the path and then heads uphill north of the path and somewhat parallel to the rocks for a while then heads north to the "bear cave" and runs in the middle of the loop.

Nice loop trail with easy access. Nice views of the lake, and rock structure.

The park's map mileage is off, listing this as 3.1 miles. My Garmin tracked it at 4.1. It's moderately marked well, with a few turns leading to a bit of confusion. Still, this was an enjoyable hike with some elevation. My 9 year old son enjoyed it and had no problems.

Great little trail!!

The trails we hiked were not kept up or clearly marked.

Varied terrain made it interesting. Only one section that I would call difficult. Signage could have been better. There were parts that I didn't know what trail I was on.

My husband and I hiked this trail together. We are in our 50s and overweight but we managed to make it. Some parts were difficult but we survived and enjoyed it. We had no problem staying on the trail. We just followed the paint markings on the trees.

This trail is obscured in many areas due to trees down from lingering tornado damage, and the trail junctions are unclear, resulting in my following animal trails accidentally instead of the real trail. I took 2 dogs, and while we completed the loop around the island, we weren't on the trail for about 70% of the hike, it wasn't without a fair amount of difficulty. I had to lift my oldest of my large dogs over many tree trunks.

I did this trail today and was very disappointed. It is not maintained very well hard to even tell where the trail is in some parts.

We went in July 2015, the 2011 tornado really did a job on the canopy so the sun was brutal. Lots of under growth on the trails and it's bad year for ticks. Might be a great hike in the winter.

There wasn't actually a waterfall, but it was still a beautiful trail! Lots of beautiful flowers, and it wasn't too hard to hike. Went geocaching and found the "Bear Cave cache"... So much fun :)

Well, there was no real waterfall to speak of. It was a good exercise and plenty of wild blackberries to eat along the mostly uphill hike. It is mostly shaded and is nice scenery. There are a few places for your dog to get fresh water, on top of what you'll want to bring for her. It's definitely not the trail for you when you are in poor shape (my husband and I struggled a bit and we are not in awful shape) but my 15 year old was unphased. Next time we go it will be on a day with MUCH less humidity.

I love this trail. Lots of ups and downs. A solid moderate level trail. This is a great trail for conditioning for a backpacking trip.

I have to give a few details about this trail. On the map this trail is marked out. They ask you not to take this trail and a few others and if you do your at your own risk. Here's why,, the April 27th tornadoes took a huge chunk out of Guntersville State Park and destroyed this trail and messed up and few others and the trail marks. I decided to take this one at my own risk. It was overgrown and had some strenuous parts because it wasn't marked well. I had to look at the map closely and follow the trail as I seen it. This trail is about halfway up the hill to the Lodge. Before the tornadoes you could not see the lake from this trail. Now,, its BEAUTIFUL! You have a clear view through almost the whole trail. I suggested they clear the trail and remark it. A very nice trail!!! take at your own risk!

I had a good time on the trail. The cliffs and watershed was nice to see. The trail goes down next to the watershed but stays on a rock ridge where I had lunch up high and a view of the hills as well. Nice trail. This specific trail was marked really well. The fall leaves could have messed me up as the trail was covered.

I enjoyed this trail. It was a small cave but it was fun to see. Cave trail also had nice views and was an easy trail for a family. It runs into Loop Trail.

the waterfall was a disappointment. Although the rest of the trail was great and we had lunch sitting below the cliffs. It connects to Old Still Path.
