Great paved trail for running/walking

A favorite place to run in town. Can be muddy in spots under bridges after a heavy rain.

Love it! Clean and clear with no traffic

I discovered this trail by accident while out searching for somewhere to run. it's beautiful, off the street, and clean. highly recommended.

Nice, plain trail for when you just want to get out for some air.

Nice place for a run, just not for me! I’m not into road running but if you are it will not disappoint!

an easy walk, paved. If anything, it can be a little busy sometimes...

Great urban trail for running. Paved. Well maintained and safe (a bunch of joggers/strollers/etc) but not crowded.

The trail was beautiful and well kept; however, there were no benches along the route, and on a hot day like today, a bench would have been nice. A bathroom facility at the trailhead would have been nice as well.

It's always nice and peaceful. Families and children running and walking.

Jesse, this WALKING trail would no doubt be less crowded for all the "elite" cyclists that can't read the signs that clearly say 'NO BICYCLES' Don't rate a trail 3 stars because you feel entitled to cycle on a walking trail. You don't see me driving my truck down a bike trail do you? Keep it on the road!

Simple trail with lots of bikes and runners.

Great place to ride but sometimes too crowded with walkers, runners, and dogs. Almost got tangled up between a dogs leash and his owner... Could have been very bad.

An innercity trail that runs along and through a floodplain. It is a wide, paved trail that is well maintained and seems to always have people walking, running, biking and skating. One portion of the trail goes through a nice stand of woods and gives a feeling of being out in the country. Another section runs parallel to a busy four lane road and reminds you that you are still in the city. Overall, a nice getaway from the city while still in the city.

This is a wonderful trail if you can't find the time to drive out of town. It's paved, tree-lined, and always peopled with friendly folks - bikers, walkers, roller-bladders, and runners. Nearby Lakeshore Blvd. has traffic, so there is a little city background noise. The trail moves along a nice creek and is usually pretty shady in most places.

The Shades Creek Greenway Trail is a multi-use, paved, mostly level trail that parallels Lakeshore drive in Homewood, AL. The trail is used for walking, running, bicycling, and pet walking. The trail is 2.5 miles end to end, with water fountains at only the ends. There are no bathroom facilities unless you continue the walk from the northeast end, where an Applebees restaurant is located near Brookwood Mall.
