Hiking

Great for families! My almost 2yr old ran the boardwalk down and the trail back up with no issue.

The lake at the bottom was nice, the hike back up was very challenging for us, but glad we did this trail! Easy to follow marking on the trees and rocks.

Hiking

This is the first real trail I have hiked. I started from Cabin 2 at Mt Cheaha state park. It was a cool overcast day with light rain. I took my time going down since it's basically all rock for the hike down. My knees were hurting starting about 20 minutes into the hike down the mountain. At the bottom was a creek that ran into the lake. I walked to the lake before returning to the trail. The hike back up for rough on my legs. I was happy to finally make it back up to the cabin. The total hike was 1h40m and 2 miles.

Love coming here with my family! The view is like no other especially in the fall. The boardwalk is handicap accessible so my stepdad was able to use his walker. The restaurant is amazing as well; the views are spectacular.

Could not figure out how to access trail. There was a detour and road closures to where the trail could not be found.

Short but when it gets steep it can get challenging. Great views from the top!

HARD. Extreme incline. My kids handled it fine but they’re wiped. I need some compression on my knees! Beautiful, though!!

It’s a boardwalk with a nice view. It’s worth it for the view, but not really a “hike.”

Backpacking

we were a little ambitious on our first trip. we went counter clockwise and made it all the way to the stream where we set up our hammocks. We were beat! There were a couple of pretty challenging places but it was beautiful and a fun hike. The trail was clean but there were some downed trees. The parking lot was full and the trail was full of people. Everyone was nice and enjoying being outside on a beautiful day.

interesting trail. does not lead to the actual high point of Alabama. you have to drive to the observation tower for that

Highpointer Alabama. Not very steep as the signs indicate. Lots of downed trees on the Blue Path, but there are so many markers, its impossible to get lost. Lake is nice.

You will see the glory of god when you hike this trail from start to finish. When you reach the top you can see for many miles. It’s a steep one, & bit more difficult then you would think. Trees are down & you have to go under & over them, some steep rocks have to be climbed as well. You will not end up at the rock garden when you finish this hike. At the very end of this hike there is a sign saying the rock garden is another .7 miles. It will take an inexperienced hiker hours to get to the top of this trail, even though it’s 1.4 miles, but coming down will take about 20 min.

Easy access for everyone. It's all a wooden walk way and really short but the view is worth it.
