This route begins at the Aula de la Naturaleza and its path is marked with yellow markings that leads to Cerro Ecce-Homo. Passing through a pine forest, from the Camino de los Catalanes you reach the Barranco de la Zarza and the path continues to climb to the Pico de la Vera Cruz, or also known as Ecce-Homo, where the Cave is located at its base. de los Gigantones or del Champiñón. Legend has it that on May 3, 1118, a luminous cross appeared at the top of the hill and motivated the Christians to carry out the final assault for the conquest of Qal´at´Abd-Salam. The Route of the Arab Castle starts from the Nature Classroom and is marked with the color Blue. He begins his journey on the Camino de las Repopulations, where you can see the recovery of the mixed Mediterranean forest. The route takes the Camino de la Alvega between riverside vegetation and borders the Malvecino hill. The Qal´at´Abd-Salam fortress, built in the middle of the 9th century, was part of the defense system of Toledo.
