This route begins at the car park next to the Cavallers Reservoir. The path to be taken is the one on the left side and along the way there are quite a few climbing areas, rocks and it must be taken into account that the terrain is quite steep. However, the route is worth it for its views and the Pyrenean landscape that can be seen and felt from start to finish.Show more

Length: 47.1 mi • Est. Multi-day
The Carros de Foc route was drawn up thanks to the initiative of a group of park rangers who traced it in a circular route in 1987. The views throughout the route are impressive as it is located in the impressive Aigüestortes National Park i Estany de Sant Maurici, where nature is guaranteed. This route can be carried out in two days by spending the night in the small Refugio del Plant de la Font, owned by the National Park and from where many high mountain activities start, such as hiking routes, mountain biking, skiing ... or in one of the other shelters where the trail passes. This beautiful route also has the peculiarity of the section of old train tracks, located next to the Estany Tort, which were built at the time the reservoirs were created to transport materials from one place to another. They are five kilometers long and narrow gauge. There is some section of rugged terrain and steep mountains, but generally, the route does not have any technical difficulties. In short, this long, but amazing route is a must for lovers of nature and outdoor sports.Show more
