The Caldera Blanca trail starts from the town of Tinajo, a town on the island of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands, continues to skirt the entire Caldereta crater, about 300 meters in diameter, and ends with the spectacular Caldera Blanca volcano. The Caldera Blanca or White Crater is an extinct volcano formed by a single volcanic eruption known to be the widest crater on the islands, with a diameter of 1200 meters. Like any good tourist, who will probably visit the "Timanfaya National Park", one may be a little disappointed, discovering that this visit can only be done by bus, and no one can get off the bus to take photos. But that is not a problem. The canaries, who take care of hiking in Lanzarote, have thought of you. Indeed, the Caldera Blanca trail has the same landscapes as the Timanfaya park, but it can only be done on foot. This is what makes this trail a must for anyone with a hiker's soul. Translation was done with the free version of the translator www.DeepL.com/Translator The ascent is gradual, but it can be very windy at the top of the crater. It is important to wear good hiking shoes to avoid slipping on the volcanic rock and the dirt track.Show more
