Incredible trail with views in every direction. Difficult only for length, but mostly easy and flat except for the first forty minutes from Poncebos. We are relatively fit and whole trail took us 6 hours, including plenty of time to take pictures and a stop for lunch in Caín. There were a number of 60+ yo doing the trail as well without problem. The views are so spectacular the whole time that you don’t notice the time going by. It definitely did not feel like 24 km. For best light for pictures start by 10 am on the Poncebos side and hike back in the afternoon from Caín. To park in Poncebos, drive up to trailhead, then turn around and take first available parking. Very popular route, so best to do on a weekday in off-season. Avoid July and August.

Very exciting trail!!! About 24 km back and forth mostly flat, but the views amazing. .

Did this trail a couple of times starting at the Tresviso end. There is a long section over loose stones “scree” which is not easy to negotiate, a walking stick or two would help a lot. The views are spectacular; but can be limited by low cloud. No facilities along the way, nor at the bottom; need to walk a further two km to Hermida for cafes and so on.

Beautiful trail with different kind of views and levels of paths. From Poncebos, the first 45 minutes are a good climb and after the highest point of Caolos the route goes down slightly. The route is located very high above the river and offers you a very good view of the valley and the mountains, which are astonishing when the sun is shining. It's recommended to stay the night in Cain and walk back the next morning! Walked from the other side the route is a different experience, so it's no problem to go back and forth. On the road you get company from a lot of goats, we counted 133!

This is a great trail. I visited my friend from San Sebastian and his friends and family had all done this trail. It is a local favorite. They recommended that we stay in Potes and then drive to Cain to begin the trail. We hiked from Cain to Poncebos. In Poncebos we got a tasty lunch and drank some beers, then we chilled by the river before hiking back. We came across a lot of mountain goats. The gorge is incredible with dramatic views of the limestone rock shooting up into the sky. I highly recommend this trail it was incredible and I'd love to go back and do the trails in the surrounding area. My friend said this trail can get super crowded during the high season, but it wasn't too crowded in April. We saw about a dozen people over the 14 miles.

Lovely scenic hike

Amazing views of a deep limestone gorge from start to finish. The only challenge at all is the length. There is a taxi or bus service available at either end if you decide not to do the exact same walk back. But it is worth it to go both ways, the steep walls and all the twists and turns provide new views going the opposite way.

This is an amazing hike with awesome views, highly recommend doing this if you are in Austurias We just did this (end of May) and it was a cloudy day with light drizzle, all very manageable with a down jacket or raincoat. Amazing views everywhere and for parts of the hike the clouds would engulf the area we were hiking. Trail is very clear and apparent, you cannot get lost Also saw lots of mountain goats, they are not aggressive at all and will usually walk/run away when you get close to them My wife and I are in OK shape and each way was around 3.5hrs (incl photos), so 7hrs in total. No toilets or drinking water along the trail that we saw, but there are restaurants and cafes at each town at the start and end of the trail where you can use the bathroom or buy water, food, etc Ps. If you start at Pescabos, the trail is actually on your right hand side going up the side of the mountain quite steeply for the first 45mins (fairly flattish after that). Don’t go on the flat road in the middle, don’t think that leads anywhere
