Description

Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park was declared a World Heritage Site in 1997. It is located inside the Ordesa-Viñamala Biosphere Reserve in the Pyrenees of Huesca province in Aragon, Spain. The park is the first protected area in Spain and is the most important national park in Spain. What makes this park so alluring is the beauty of the surroundings. There are towering summits, glacial lakes, waterfalls and a diverse variety of flora and fauna. Mount Perdido is the third highest mountain in the Pyrenees and is made of calcium carbonate and limestone. The park is home to more than 150 species of animals, 106 types of birds, and a variety of reptiles and. Make sure to visit the glacial lakes of Lake Marboré and the beauty of Ordesa Valley. Visitors can also trek down the trail to the Cola de Caballo waterfall. There are many different hiking trails of varying difficulty from beginner to advanced.
