This trail starts in the Lakes viewpoint and goes to Poço do Bacalhau. The post that indicates the starting point is about 50m away from the viewpoint, when reaching this point, take the path in which you have Lagoa Comprida on your left side. Then, when the path crosses the tarmac road, turn left and continue for some meters on the road, turn to the left, to a path similar to the one at the beginning of the trail and which might have some wet and muddy areas. There you can observe Lagoa Comprida, Lagoa Funda and later Lagoa Branca. Next, when reaching an unpaved track, turn to the right. Continue until you pass the bridge over the rivulet and take the track on the right. Pay close attention to the fog marks until you reach again an unpaved track and turn to the right. Follow this track for about 100 meters and turn to the left on the first path. Continue to follow the fog marks until you reach the edge of the hill and from where you have the view over Fajã Grande. Continue on the edge until you reach stone stairs on the left and descend it. Continue the marks until you get to Poça do Bacalhau. This trail passes through two natural reserve zones: a Site of Community Interest (SCI) and a Forest Reserve and, for this reason, we all have not only the responsibility of its protection, but also of its biodiversity conservation this natural habitat.
