Description

Hāwea Conservation Park has many bird species, including threatened birds such as the rock wren and kea. There are gecko and several plant species found in the park as well. Enjoy the landmarks such as McKeerrow Range and the Barth and Huxley peaks. The area is known for early pastoralism and gold mining. Keep an eye out for the historic Ben Avon Hut.
