Amazing scenery especially on a clear day. Easy track as most of the ground is flat.

Lucky with brilliant clear views on the way up. Knee high snow for about the last hour made for a lung-buster, but gorgeous, nonetheless. Probably took me 3hrs to the top with plenty of picture snapping. Made some coffee at the hut, then back down in about 2hrs. Low visibility on the way down, but plenty of my own tracks to follow, and fun snow tromping. Even if you only get to the top of the stairs section and don't go all the way to the hut--go for it. I think anyone could accomplish the stair part, if they take their time and just enjoy it.

Do you love stairs? Great views. Lots of stairs. Picnic table at the lookout. Last 200 steps were snow covered so a good walking stick will serve you well in June.

Easy walk with amazing views along the way. 3 bridge crossings.

It’s a pretty good track.

Amazing views

This is a fun trail. Three suspension bridges, two lakes, a dozen waterfalls, and sideways rain.

Had a perfect day with clear skies. 3ish hours to the hut. Three exploring up there. And 3.5 down

Great flat trail , views are stunning. Lots of people, but with views like this it's easy to see why. Most people are friendly and polite. 3 suspension bridges to cross both ways, bring a lunch and water. Good for all levels!

punishing hike. the first 2/3 is pretty but the view is a bit monotonous. the real reward is reaching the ridge and hooking back towards Mueller hut for the glaciers and unrivaled view of Aoraki.

We did this hike Feb 9th. Beautiful sunny day. Nice exercise as you traverse a total of 3 suspension bridges each way. Bring a lunch or snack to eat at picnic tables at the final lake site. Quite a lot of people use this trail, so be prepared.
We heard a couple of ice sections collapse up in the higher mountains. The steel grey glacier melt water is fantastic to see. Great little day hike!

Very crowded / easy walk. The views are nice but you mostly see the same thing the whole way (I went on a rainy/cloudy day though). You could probably just do the first 30-45 minutes and see most of it.

This hike was definitely the highlight of our trip to the South Island! The trail begins with stairs and turns to rocks and boulders roughly halfway up. The view gets better the entire way. This can definitely be done as a day hike but I highly recommend booking a bunk at the Mueller Hut in advance or bringing up a tent. Listening to the avalanches and star gazing was something I won’t soon forget. Make sure to scramble up Mt Ollivier for a great 360 view and a view of the hut from above.

The second half after Sealy Tarns and the zillion stairs is one long rock scree scramble with a few boulders thrown in. Awesome!

Tons of traffic on a beautiful day. The icebergs in the cafe au lait water at the end was pretty neat.

too much people

Great hike. First half stair climb to Sealy Tarns then rock scramble path to the hut. Doable as a day trip but the sunset/sunrise from the hut was spectacular.

one of the best hikes I've done. so much fun, 2200 steps, then rock scrambling and then hiking through snow. stunning views along whole hike.

It is absolutely gorgeous surrounded by glacial mountains and waterfalls the whole way. You get rewarded with icebergs in the blue, glacier-water lake for the grand finale. Watch for bunnies along the way!

Doesn’t get much better than this! Amazing glacial mountain and valley views culminating in a lake with rocky mountainside or beachside picnicking spots. Plus three swinging bridges which offer great vistas of the rushing glacial river water below. There is a restroom at the halfway point, so don’t worry about ducking off the trail to find coverage in the abundant shrubbery. Very easy trek with wide gravel path and little elevation, yet still rewarded with stunning views the whole way. Recommend going early to avoid the crowds, but more important is to pick a time when visibility is high so you can marvel at the landscape.

the combination of suspension bridges, teal glacier runoff fed rivers with gentle waterfalls, three lakes, icebergs, prominent peaks, and glaciers make this one of my all time favorite hikes.

Easy trek with an amazing view on the hooker lake and the mount cook

Pleasant 4 mile return hike to foot of Glacier. Beautiful view on the way and at the point itself. Easy trail with moderate climb on way out and quick return. If you only have a day or two here it’s perfect scenic trail.

Easy flat hike with beautiful views of Mt Cook. Nearby campground is excellent and right at the start of this trail!

Amazing walk in winter, go for crampons and proper snow shoes if it's been snowing recently. Very slippery and slow so add an extra hour to two hours when icy.
