Length: 2.3 mi • Est. 58 m
After a number of unsuccessful attempts in the 20th century to turn the Slufter into a polder, it was decided to let the area take its natural course. The area consists of a maze of creeks, which means that it is regularly flooded after heavy rain, but also that it is an excellent bird breeding area. This path takes you to the beach, and you will definitely see many birds along the way.Show more

The Eierlandse Duinen are a unique part of Texel. The dunes here are much older than those at De Muy and De Slufter. The dune grasslands and small bushes are an ideal area for birds, where the Eierlandse Duinen also owes its name from. Eierlandse Duinen literally translates to "egg country dunes". It is a good nesting area for seabirds. Many flowers bloom in this part of the Texel Dunes. Bird excursions to this part of Texel can be booked through the Texel Bird Information Center.
