Take a half day or a full day to stroll around Lake Braies, probably the most beautiful lake in Italy. Its blue-green color and gorgeous backdrop are breathtaking. The hike itself is fairly easy, with a wide shattered rock path and some stairs. There are picnic tables and benches around the lake if you want to have lunch there, or just want to sit and take in the view. For even better views, you can even rent a wooden rowboat and paddle on the lake. There is a lot to explore in this area and you will have plenty of time to do it as this trail is centrally located in the Braies Dolomites and only takes about an hour to complete.Show more

From the Capanna Alpina to the Scotoni Refuge and return to the valley along the same path (20). Very simple dirt road although a little sloped. PROS: easy path to access the Fanes area and the esplanade in front of the hut is very beautiful and comfortable. CONS: the entrance into the valley includes a quarry and in any case the path is suitable for vehicles.Show more

Departure from Badia (alternatively you can take the chairlift) and climb up to the Santa Croce Refuge via path 7A, continuing to the snow cave (15B) and returning to the valley via variant 13 and 7B. There are never particularly exposed stretches, but the uphill and downhill gradients there are several steep sections. PRO: beautiful view, very nice especially the path back in the woods.Show more
