From Pian dell'Alpe (m 1819) traces of path lead to the hill of windows (m 2176). About 100 m before the hill begins, on the left, the mule track leads to the characteristic rocky spur of the Colle della Vecchia (2480 m). You then enter the Barbier valley along the mule track, which is always wide and supported by characteristic dry-stone walls that go up with some hairpin bends up to the barracks of Punta del Mezzodì. From here the panorama sweeps over the Valle di Susa and the Lake of Moncenisio. Before reaching Colle Della Valletta a detour leads with a good path to the top (2848 m) 3 hours from Pian Dell'Alpe.Show more

Hiking - Rifugio Amprimo. The Orsiera Park is named after the homonym mountain separating the Susa and Chisone valleys. The hike is very moderate as of length and elevation change, therefore suitable for hikers of all ages as it leads to Rifugio Amprimo where food is available all year round - except in case of heavy snowfall. From this point, the trail proceeds further to Rifugio Toesca (closed in winter) which can be reached in about one hour. See our listing for Rifugi Amprimo and Toesca for the stats of that hike.Show more
