Questo percorso parte dal Rifugio CAI Faggio dei Tre Comuni salendo nella faggeta al Monte Trevine 1661 mt con fioriture e vista mozzafiato sul monte Penna 1735mt. Si percorre con attenzione il crinale, attraverso il Passo del Lupo si raggiunge la sella che per sentiero difficile EE con catena come corrimano che porta al Rifugio della Casermetta Ristoro. Per la discesa dal Passo dell'Incisa si cammina sulla strada ad anello del Penna che riporta al Rifugio del Faggio tra boschi ad alto fusto di faggio. Sul tragitto vedrete le sorgenti del Taro e una bella variante a sinistra sul sentiero CAI 871c. Ci sono due opzioni per arrivare al Monte Penna. Il sentiero Blu è più lungo e difficile. Il sentiero Rosso da Passo del Lupo va direttamente in cima al Monte Penna con percorso EE in roccia e catena di sicurezza (non è necessaria alcuna attrezzatura).
