Not very interesting. Not particularly interesting views except for the wisdom path, and the tree trail is nothing to write home about.

Steep rock cut steps, clear route to follow even in low cloud.

Beautiful hike, but challenging in the June heat!

Amazing and good view

Should note, the main map of this hike is from the cable car dropoff, not the full hike, which looks quite challenging. They said the last cable car is at 6, at least today, which is a regular week day, so plan accordingly. The cable car is not cheap either, $210 hkd round-trip for the standard. There’s apparently a hefty discount if you book online with koon or kool or something, so I wish I had known that. Buddha is amazing and well worth the hike or the cable car, whichever you choose, as is the monastery. The area around it is a tourist trap though so if you’re on a budget, plan to bring a snack or something.

Welcome to Hong Kong- great atmosphere in the city as well as out. If you're coming from the monastery be prepared for a climb. It's worth it but there's some big elevation to climb in a short period so take breaks if you need. I saw only one person coming the way we came, Everyone else was coming from the other direction. The trail head is a ways back behind the monastery, you'll pass old an housing quarters/boarding home and what looks like an old restaurant. The initial climb is the hardest , mostly boulder size steps until you get to a clearing at the top with some large rocks to climb on for decent views. Some advice: it was mostly out in the open so if its hot, be prepared. The second stint is another short scramble to the top where you'll find a small shelter and 12-20 folks with selfie sticks. There are also large rocks to climb out on to get a better view. We hiked through to the other end and caught a bus back to HK.
