The Wahiawa Botanical Gardens is a simple stroll. Admission is free as well as parking. It's a great walk for all ages. They have plaques that explain where every plant comes from and are very educational. They also have marked trails with numbers so you can do the upper portion that is all paved or you can go down to the lower portion where it's not paved and is a little more like hiking. I would suggest going during Spring so you can see all the plants in bloom. I also do agree that the mosquitos are pretty bad especially after a little bit of rain as to be expected.

Did this a year ago and liked the views!

Wasn’t too bad. Nothing was blooming when we went. Will try again in spring.

Free to visit and closes at 4pm, small parking lot available. There are trails but it isn't a perfect loop. I found myself wandering around. Easy walk for children/elderly. Some trails are unpaved and rocky. The entire botanical garden is pretty well shaded.

Great gardens with beautiful, diverse plant life. Did it in a dress and sandals, not at all a difficult outing. Highly recommend!

Beautiful trail with several lead offs to go and explore all kinds of plants from around the world.

An easy track for little ones. Not very many people when we went. Gorgeous and cute :-) Liked the short stone paths that led off the main path.

A nice stroll, great place to take grandparents or kids that come to visit. I do wish that more of their plants were labeled.

Very decent little stroll through the gardens. Not much of a hike. Relatively easy, some hills here and there.

Took my son today and it was a very nice day with some wind. Easy and family friendly. I wish there was signs to better explain routes because paths go several different ways and some are dead ends.

Easy hike but a lot of tourist

It was very cool with all of the canopy but the mosquitos were very fond of me. I will bring off next time.

Very easy and good to do with children and older people since it’s a steady surface. I would only do again if we have visitors that have limitations.

Nice little trail to explore (one geocache located in the gardens and one just outside)

The gardens provided a great little stop on the way to the North Shore. There was no entrance fee and several very cool trees and flowers. One tree there in particular was totally worth the visit, the eucalyptus. Totally amazing

Beautiful garden with lot of interesting plants, peaceful and tranquil.

This was an ok trail. There was a nicely developed path to follow with signs to describe trees and plants along the way. There are uneven side paths to take so wearing slippers might be rough. Don't forget a little bug spray; the bug bites definitely were not terrible.

Such a nice hike up to the waterfall. The distance to the waterfall itself is short, but you can explore so many trails that veer off the main path. We ended up walking around about 4 Miles. It was awesome!

Great place to walk with kids and enjoy some nature. You can walk straight in, it's free, but the volunteer at the desk is so full of information, you're cheating yourself if you don't indulge in 5 minutes of conversation.

BEAUTIFUL place to go for a walk/hike. Easy to navigate and great for all age groups. It's actually a lot bigger than you think it's going to be. The upper paths are great for older people and younger kids (if you need to use a stroller) the lower paths are good for hiking and more adventurous adults or older kids. If you plan to go on the lower paths, make sure to wear proper shoes because there are a lot of sharp rocks. Bring lots of bug spray because the mosquitos are crazy here.

This is a nice nature walk and would be suitable for all ages! Lots of native Hawaiian plant species and labels/information available to learn about them. Unfortunately when I went it had recently rained so the lower portions of the gardens were roped off while they were wet/muddy.
