Too many trails converging. Not all marked clearly.

Did this hike with my dog and small child and it was fine. There were some steep parts but they were short. It was very muddy and overgrown in some areas. I was devoured by mosquitos. I recommend paying attention to the trail map. After entering one gate you’ll come to a fork and you want to go left to finish the loop. The last little bit was downhill on the road back to the parking lot which was a bit of a disappointment, but also a relief after all the mud.

Very muddy and overgrown in some parts. There are a couple of nice views. Shaded most of the time. It was a nice, and easy trail.

Nice and easy trail, a few staircases through out. It was extremely muddy when we went despite it not raining recently, and some sections were very overgrown. Great shade and beautiful views of surrounding mountains through the woods. Definitely recommend sturdy, waterproof shoes throughout with good grip.

this trail is awesome, but there's other trails that split off into different directions, which led us the opposite direction we wanted to go. but it was fun and there were lots of cool shots of Honolulu below us.

Great trail for dogs. Had an awesome time until we returned to the car and found our passenger side window smashed and belongings stolen from the vehicle. There was fresh broken glass at a few other spots in the lot also. Was there on a Tuesday afternoon from 12-3. Just a heads up to others to be cautious if you park here!

Time: 1 hour 14 minutes Completed: No, only went to the viewpoint bench and back. Took pictures, took our time today. Review: It was a pretty slippery hike with some ridge sections. Although, it was a fairly hike all around. We didn’t go the complete loop this time but we have before. Be aware that it takes you on the road to finish the loop. A lot of people were doing it as an out and back like we did today but there is the longer loop option. Beautiful views, mostly shaded though with peaks of sunlight here and there.

My family very much liked this trail. It has some good shade but can also be hot. Muddy sometimes too. This is a nice hike with nice views. Would have been 5 stars but the return is a brisk 25 minute walk on the road. I guess you could just do the trail backwards though!

Lots of overhanging leafy bits. Easy to handle, just have to watch for hidden objects this time of year.

8/25/2019-Got a late start at 0800 because the original trail we wanted to do had no parking available. The weather was perfect: mainly overcast with a nice, strong breeze which was nice considering the temperature these last few weeks. We came across 26 people, about 12 of them appeared to be part of a Korean hiking tour group so it was a little crowded on the path at some points. The trail is a little overgrown and muddy in some sections but not to the point of ending the hike with mud all over one’s legs. Trail is mostly shaded (definite plus during the summer) and there was a notice posted about a trail race on 8/31/19 so it’ll be kind of hectic if you decide to hike that day.

A good hike, very pretty through the trees, several good views, but really, really muddy on the Pu’u O’hia Trail. Not very many bugs at all since the trades were pretty strong today.

This hike isn’t exactly a look. It’s a loop if you take connecting trails to loop around. Manoa cliff trail meets up with the kalawahine trail at a fork. Continue to the right fork and it’ll turn into a fork at the Paula flats trail. Take the right fork again to continue back to make the Manoa cliff trail loop.

So many trails connect to each other around this area. Personally I hate having to walk on paved roads for lengthy portions of trails. It’s best to take a different route than this loop to get back to the start. All in all though it is friendly for all ages and four legged friends.
