The Chiemgau Alps are a mountain range that borders the Bavarian Alpine foothills to the west, the Berchtesgadener Land to the east, and Austria to the south. The largest part of the Chiemgau Alps is located in Germany, with a small part also in Austria. Some of the most famous peaks are the Steinplatte, the Kampenwand, the Geigelstein and the Hochries. In the Chiemgau Alps is also the nature reserve Eastern Chiemgau Alps.
