A nice short walk. Started by the beach, sea was a bit rough then was calm as you walked along the inlets. If you decide to do this trail, it might be wise to check the tides. Water had blocked my path at one point and I had to divert and walk along the dunes. Still picturesque though.

Did not check the tide so couldn't do a portion of it, but lovely walk nonetheless!

Very easy walk, lovely views out to sea. The return leg is a bit dull in places but a few nice bits.

Beautiful scenery, nice easy flat route. Timed it right with the low tide to get round Cobnor Point - lots of slimey seaweed to negotiate.

Fantastic walk around that side of the harbour taking in a few different habitats and a variety of wildlife. Shoreline section half way round even though at low water was a bit slippery on the seaweed with no shingle showing so extra care needs to be taken underfoot. Overall very enjoyable.

We walked along the waters edge there and back. Beautiful views. Nice stop at The Boathouse Cafe. Wasn’t worth walking around the marina.

Beautiful weather for a lovely walk. Great views. The sandy beach at the top of Thorney is lovely. Did a few detours and stops along the way. Make sure you take enough water/food etc with you. If weather’s good would be good to make a day of it stopping at the beach for lunch then walking the rest of the route.

WalkingMuddy

It rained from start to finish which was a shame after the long hot spell we had in the previous month. The walk is a mix of farmland / hard pan paths and seaside fore shore shingle trail which cannot be accessed during very high tides. Be advised that on a section of the route, there is no alternative to the foreshore shingle trail and you will have to turn back during very high tides. Please check tidal conditions prior to starting your walk. We parked our car adjacent to The Old House at Home public House but found a car park, a couple of hundred yards further down the road which had signs posted stating that thieves had broken into cars previously and the car park was now being monitored. What the history is of this car park is, I'm unsure? Regardless of this, confusingly, you proceed down a road that is sign posted as (Cobnor) private road for around 100 metres until you reach a second signpost also stating private road but alongside this sign is reassuringly is a tall wooden stake with a direction arrow stating West Sussex Local Authority public path and to proceed left, alongside a hedge row in a farmers field. We were taking the walk in a clockwise rotation. which took us past a boat yard and a Christian outward bounds centre. Beyond this is Cobnor point with beautiful views of Chichester Harbour and out to Bosham, Bosham point, West Itchinor and Thorney Island. Sections of the farmland paths were beginning to get soft in the rain and where possible especially during the winter months my advice is to stick to the foreshore shingle trails where possible. In a previous review, mention was made of having to cross into a deep ditch on the last section as you leave the foreshore and turn back across a farmland section to Chidham and the end of the walk. When wet weather is prevalent, access down the turf bank into and across this deep water filled ditch can be very tricky especially for those elderly walkers and those who are no longer very agile or sure of foot! Overall this is a really enjoyable walk and we observed Deer and Migrating Geese. A large section of the walk is a nature reserve and on a clear day, this will be a boon to those who enjoy wildlife. Heed my advice about the access into the ditch and the previous days weather ( wet underfoot conditions) plus checking out the local Cobnor Point / Chichester Harbour tidal status before commencing this walk.
