Busy, busy busy! Some lovely forest trails but not an adventurous walk.

HikingMuddy

Lovely walk - we started in Ockley at the train station which added another hour or so onto the walk. Stopped at the Parrot for a nice lunch before tackling the hill - it’s a bit steep but not too bad. The way back was less picturesque and quite muddy in parts. Took us 5 hours including lunch stop.

WalkingGreat!

We really enjoyed this walk. There are some hills but mostly easy. We parked in the car park in Shere around 10am on a Sunday but it’s likely to be busy on weekends. Had a lovely lunch at the Dabbling Duck afterwards. We recommend booking a table in advance as it can also get busy! Walk took us around 2hr15mins with some stops for rest.

Lovely little circular walk along tree enclosed paths with views out across two golf courses. Recommended.

Excellent walk, very challenging in places! Lovely scenery and great varied terrain/surroundings. A great way to spend a Sunday.

Avoid!! I’ve been walking and hiking around the UK for years and don’t think I’ve ever come across such a busy trail. The whole world and his dog, wife, horse, bike and extended family were here today, it was annoying having to constantly stop and let people pass. There were pockets of loveliness and it’s certainly pretty but one to avoid if you prefer peaceful walks and want to get away from it all. Not the best for dogs either as there are quite a few narrow roads to navigate. Won’t do again, surprisingly!

Lovely walk. Yes, a couple of roads to cross but no big issue. Lots of parking at The Onslow Arms where we later returned to for drinks - very dog friendly. Nice route with good directions and lots to see on the way round. The beech tree avenue towards the end is stunning - especially when the autumn leaves appear.

Lovely walk with a range of landscapes and views. Good quality paths, no livestock, very dog friendly. Some steep paths (both up and downhill).

HikingGreat!

Lovely walk on a sunny Saturday morning. Greeted a few cyclists and dog walkers along the way. A few road crossings but not many and back in the wilderness very quickly. Missed a few subtle turns, but only through talking and taking photos Think I covered just over 8 miles with the odd mistake and nearly 20,000 steps. Very enjoyable. Remember to use RingGo for parking fee in the Frensham Pond car park. It’s currently £6 all day. We ended up driving to the Barley Mow pub for a thoroughly enjoyable lunch and beer. Will be back!

Really lovely trail, my partner actually proposed to me at the top of the first hill. What a shock! :) We walked with our miniature labradoodle, she loved it! An easy walk, not steep really. There are some road crossings. You have to keep the dog on the lead for some parts (including walking through a small farm) and there is a section of barbed wire fencing. We stoped off half way for a firewood oven pizza and a glass of champagne to celebrate. This trail will always hold a special place in my heart! :)

Mountain bikingFeeGreat!

It was a fantastic ride on our MTB. Pretty level doe! We went in pouring rain (hence we picked the day) and it gave us ours of joy and countless off the trail experience. £Definitely will go back £6/day for car park at Bookham Common side!

Walking

Uphill pretty much all the way for the first 3km, but the views at the top, and the flapjacks assuming the teashop in the tower is open, are well worth the effort. Then it’s downhill through fields mostly as you meander back to the start.
