Watch out for mud, go well prepared with waterproof hiking boots. Also, if it’s been raining lately part of the trail might not be accesible due to water and you might need to find a workaround. There are a lots of trails so watch out to not get lost. There is only one demanding climb but otherwise is a very easy walk and very nice!!

Wet and windy autumnal walk but thoroughly enjoyed the route. Lots of parking at The Onslow Arms. The second half of the walk was particularly lovely with far reaching views from the golf course in Merrow. The woodland walk was picturesque - the straight path through the beech trees towards Shere Road was awesome. The route was pretty muddy in places. The pub was fantastic - the walk is actually promoted on their website. Dogs very welcome - great ambience and very welcoming.

Great hike and highly recommended, but this trail should be rated easy. There is nothing moderate about it. The trail is well marked with silver arrows directing each turn (similar to the yellow arrows on the Camino de Santiago) and I loved looking for them. The terrain is varied and includes walking through towns, countryside paths, through lovely vineyards and across private fields. It is perfect for a tourist (like me) as the trail starts and stops at a train station. We added in the Box Hill Stepping Stone trail to this route and it added about 3 miles overall. We detoured near the Westhumble Train Station and completed the Box Hill Stepping Stone trail and then returned to this trail and continued to the end in Dorking. I did this trail for my 48th birthday and it was a perfect day and we enjoyed it very much. Only caveat is the trail is muddy in a few places. We were able to get by with only waterproof trainers but the locals were all smartly wearing rubber boots.

Great walk, hard going at times to get to Leith Hill but worth the hike. Delightful pub at the end!

Such a pleasant walk. My girlfriend and I came to Leatherhead today by train and walked this trail to Dorking to catch the train home. Such a beautiful walk, lots of nice views and the local people are so nice. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Good work out, first 2 miles is all incline up to leith hill and then a decline back down, through a field and forest. Really nice views up top of the hill, weather was damp so in parts have to be careful very slippery on some of the walking surface and going down the hill. Would recommend

Very nice and easy walk through the country side, farmland, woods, heath. The walk conveniently starts and ends in the charming village of Shere. Halfway there's a picnic area in Albury.

Nice mix of shaded and sunny sections. An easy walk. Only negative is at start or finish depending on which way round you go path is overgrown with stinging nettles. Onslow Arms pub worth a visit.

Delightful walk on a glorious sunny Sunday with tea and sausage roll at Leith Hill Tower, then a pint/G&T at The Parrot at the end. Tilly the dog had a great time, seldom having to be on the lead.

Nice trail but part of it is overgrown with stinging nettles so tread carefully. Pub is lovely to have food at after the hike!

Some people might find starting from car park 3 more convenient (the top right of the trail)

we saw a slow worm!

Great walk. A couple of stretches on the road so need to be careful on a couple of the bends. Wonderful views from the top of Leith Hill. Warning re pub. The only shady area in the garden they will not serve food in.

it is an easy trail but long trail and bring water for yourself. It is true there is traffic noise along the route, but that's a problem pretty much in all urban routes in the UK. over all a enjoyed route. I have saved a alternative route via the Druids Grove and Boxhil, which is great if you have a dog, but it is more demanding than the normal route. see my recording info.

Adventurous walk with exquisite views, especially on a nice sunny day, straight from the car park into viewpoint 1 with a very nice art piece/ bench with lots of quotes on. The trail down is a bit dodgy so would advise to be careful easily could trip and hurt yourself so wouldn’t advise for young children or elderly unless very sprite. A few points on the trail had to make our own way. To viewpoint no 2 through the fields wasn’t on the red AllTrails route, so we went another way could of made it much easier to get to, don’t turn left keep going on the trail there’s a left further on which is one straight trail to viewpoint 2. And the very end part going uphill wasn’t a clear trail so made our own way guess it adds to the adventure.

Follow the red route and you will no doubt get lost. I’m sure there is a pleasant enough walk sticking to the main paths... but this is not it.

Excellent. Straight from the car park into a beautiful woodland walk. And the views from the top of hurtwood are stunning if you like forest walks them would recommend.

Easy and pleasant trail; however, never breaks free from the motorway noise. No specific landmark or memorable area. Happy we did it but would not go back nor recommend for any specific reasons.

Such an enjoyable walk, made for a lovely day.

Really lovely walk. Long uphill to start but not a problem to do. If you’re walking with dogs be aware there is quite a lot of road walking. And the muddy bits were still muddy despite it being a hot August day and not much rain recently. Only for a short stretch though. Lovely views.

Wow fantastic walk, the first part up the hill was mostly shady so was great seeing as it was a hot day, was a bit out of breath in places on the way up but was in no rush, so no problem. Fantastic views. The dogs loved it as well. Lunch at the Parrot was excellent, great pub and atmosphere.
