Good walk, better in good weather to appreciate the views, boots or sturdy footwear a must as its quite rocky and uneven and slippy in wet weather. a few dogs running loose so be aware when standing on the rocks some door have good recall.

Fantastic location but... This is a FOOTPATH. Not a mountain bike trail. Signs are present requesting no bikes.

Scenic. A few hills at the start but stunning views- then down the valley to follow the wall and roads - fairly good going for the most parts.

The route is easy to follow with markers along the route, forestry England have put nice stone path along simonside and dove crag making it easy and less muddy. Lovely views all along, final stage along the road requires care as narrow and some traffic.

really enjoyed this walk. you follow a stream all the way up to the Cheviot crisscrossing over it. you get muddy so make sure you have waterproof boots on but that makes the walk soo much more fun

Stunning walk in the Cheviots. As others have said, Walking Boots are a must.

Fantastic walk. The scenery is beautiful on a bright day. First third can be quite busy but still very enjoyable.

enjoyable route, good walking boots and poles definitely useful as it is muddy in places

Warm and Rainy day, completed the route anticlockwise, Nice steady climb from the start, accompanied by stone steps towards the summit. Various types of terrains to walk along, be cautious of slippery stones. Sturdy footwear with good ankle support recommended. Verdict: Great little walk for those wanting to brush the cobwebs away wether fitness or map reading.

Fantastic route and my daughter, 8, really enjoyed the walk, plenty for her to view and talk about but I think it's less of a beginner and more moderate hike in places. We seen lots of people doing it in trainers but I would highly recommend boots as it's very uneven and rocky in parts but overall, it has beautiful views, lots to discuss, interesting landscape and plants. Word of warning if you have a dog, beware there was lots of people (probably due to lockdown) who's dogs had little to no recall, one even tried to take my daughters sandwich from her hand when we were sat having our picnic, owner did nothing! (This isn't a problem just at this site, it's an issue generally at the moment, so wouldn't deter me from returning).

Fantastic hike, very boggy throughout however, with a number of stream crossings. Be prepared and come with high walking boots!

A good hike and nice loop looking back onto the Wall. The second half of the hike (opposite the Wall) is lightly trafficked, while the first half through the ruins was overrun by families and those taking in the sites. Overall an enjoyable hike and convenient parking, assuming the lot is not full. A good way to see a nice section of the Wall.

Running

Added a bit to this by branching off the street to add more elevation for a run. Good run mostly solid ground a few muddy patches; which could be worse in winter. A bit of a killer little climb near the end
