Description

Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is located in North Yorkshire and borders Yorkshire Dales National Park to the east and south. The highest point in the park is Great Whernside at 704 metres (2,310 ft) above sea level. The most popular activities for visitors are walking, mountain biking and caving. Two long-distance trails traverse the park, the Six Dales Trail from south to north, and the Nidderdale Way from south east to north west. Caving takes place in the Upper Nidderdale caves.
