A varied circular walk from the village of Ashford Hill in Hampshire. The route is a mixture of woodland tracks and open fields: the first part is mainly through woodland between Ashford Hill and Axmansford, and then along tracks and field edges to Baughurst. The return is through fields to Haughurst Hill, where it enters the Ashford Hill National Nature Reserve. The route is generally flat with a few slopes but no particularly steep sections. Most of the walk is on woodland tracks or across fields, with just a few short sections of quiet road. The woodland paths and the Nature Reserve can get muddy after wet weather. There is one stile (which should be easy for a dog to pass) and various gates including kissing gates. Two vehicle barrier gates in the woodland section were locked at the time of writing, but it was easy to duck under the metal bar of the gate. Allow 2.5 to 3 hours. Some of the woodland sections have many footpaths branching off the main route, so it is best to follow your AllTrails map.Show more
