Huashan Scenic Area features one of the great five mountains of China, Mount Hua. Hushan is known to be the great western mountain, and is considered to be one of four top tourist attractions in China. For those who enjoy a challenge and thrills, check out the sky plank hike. The sky plank hike is quite dangerous and is not recommended for the faint of heart. Hikers will have to navigate in narrow spaces up in high elevation. Huashan also has a variety of challenging hikes, for those who are not interested in such, check out the Xiaqi Pavilion, Huixin Rock, and other cool attractions. More attractions at Huashan which include: Hundred-Foot Crevice, Laojun Plough Ditch, Thousand-Foot Precipice, Canglong Mountain, and more! For those interested in history and religion, make sure to stop by the different temples!

HuaShan (华山) is one of the most famous mountain in China. Huashan has gondolas to the North peak and many people choose to ride the Gondola. So the trail from starting point YuQuanYuan (玉泉院) to North peak is pretty empty. The trail is a typical Chinese fashion with well built steps, and some light poles, indicating that it is possible to hike at night without flash light. The first few miles are gradual accent until the point of Thousand Foot Narrow (千尺幢), Then the trail becomes narrow and steep, almost all the way to the North Peak. There are a number of attractions on the peaks, some appear very dangerous requiring ropes for protection. You have the option to skip these attractions. Show more

This route starts at the base of the mountain which you can get to by bus and gondola. Much of the trail had been cut out of the rock, especially the thousands of steps. Many of the steps are only about 4 to 6 inches deep and there are chains lining the whole trail up the mountain. As you get to the "golden lock pass" you notice many locks locked to the chains. The locks are typically brought by couples and placed on the mountain to bring a long lasting love to their relationship. Then you see the plank walk which is secured by harnesses and cables. At the end of the plank walk is an old Buddhist temple.Show more
