Situated in the hills above Peñalolén, the Quebrada De Macul Nature Park is a great location for outdoor recreation. For residents of Santiago, it's a short drive to the 2,465 hectares park, where visitors find several walking trails, picnic areas, mountain biking, a museum, and spectacular viewpoints. This park is free to enter. Pets are not allowed in the park.

The Quebrada de Macúl is the ideal place for a natural getaway for a day or half a day. The main route follows a trail surrounded by green on the banks of the gorge itself, being able to visit the Mirador de la U, the San Juan Waterfall and another waterfall of approximately 12 meters. You can bathe in its refreshing waters, rest among nature or visit some of the other trails within the Park (there are both shorter and easier trails, as well as longer and more challenging, for example the Cajón del Muerto).Show more

Most of the route is shared with the Quebrada de Macúl. After the Mirador de la U, almost near the San Juan Waterfall, the road forks and you will continue along the Aguas del Maqui trail passing through the Altas Cumbres Natural Viewpoint and the Jmanaya Viewpoint. From Alto de Potrerillos it becomes the Cajón del Muerto trail and continues up the mountain, taking a steeper slope, to the top of Cerro de La Cruz.Show more
