Length: 43.1 mi • Est. Multi-day
The W Circuit is a breathtaking, bucket-list trek for any backpacker with sights you will never forget. It is generally done in 4 or 5 days, between glaciers, snowy peaks, lakes and lagoons with crystalline waters. It requires a good physical condition and will allow you to admire the most outstanding sites within the Torres del Paine park, enjoying the Patagonian nature at its best. Keep in mind that the Patagonian climate is quite changeable. The suggested scheme to carry out the stages of this circuit is the following: 1. Camping Central - Torres base viewpoint - Camping Central 2. Camping Central - Camping Francés 3. French campsite - British viewpoint - Paine Grande campsite 4. Camping Paine Grande - Gray Glacier - Pudeto Make sure to plan ahead, as spots tend to fill up quickly and in low season some services and camping sites even stop operating. The trail to Torres closes so make sure to check the schedule before hiking.Show more

The hike to the Mirador Base Las Torres (or simply Mirador Torres / Towers Viewpoint) is one of the most iconic in Chilean Patagonia and probably the most popular within the Torres del Paine National Park. It allows you to have incredible views of Lake Torre and the three granite peaks that surround it, the famous Torres del Paine or "blue towers". You can start the trail from the hotel area or from Torres del Paine camp. The effort to get to the viewpoint is totally worth it. Some people do this hike as the first part of other circuits in the area (such as the "W" circuit).Show more

It is a challenge that you will surely not regret. Bear in mind that the weather conditions are quite changeable, so be prepared for anything. Another of the insurmountable routes that you can take on your visit to Torres del Paine National Park is the hike from the Paine Grande Camp to the Gray glacier viewpoint. Without a doubt, the landscape it offers is spectacular: on one side, the Patagonian mountains and hills crowned by the Paine Grande hill and on the other side, Gray Lake. Upon reaching the Gray viewpoint, the majesty of the glacier will take your breath away. For those who make the "W" circuit, it is very likely that this is the last section.
