We hiked it with the dogs on the Victoria Day holiday. Description here is quite accurate. Nice trail with a waterfall and a scenic hill top view. A little something for everyone. Had an easy time with the dogs.

Approx a 6km loop starting and finishing at P7 which took 2hrs in total. Reasonably well sign posted with a few ups and downs along the way.

We went over Easter weekend and it was quite snowy/icy still making it moderately difficult- we saw a couple other hikes who were all wearing snowshoes, so consider proper footwear/gaiters. The trail head marked on this map is very easy to miss and is off a very narrow street with NO parking. We started on the SE side of the trail, extending the loop by about 2 or 3K. The trail itself isn't marked very well so BRING A MAP! Other than that, it's a beautiful hike with spectacular forests. Pink lake is pretty small itself and you can easily tack on a quick lake loop with this hike. Picturesque and difficult in a good way.

Hiked this trail today and the waterfall was beautiful! Some areas with snow still, others muddy and some dry. It’s a fairly easy hike with a nice lookout point to rest at at the halfway mark.

great trail in wakefield! For a good workout!

My favourite hiking trail in the Ottawa area. Beautiful in the fall!

My favorite trail in the Gatineau park. You can do the loop twice since it’s short, but it’s a good workout because of all the stairs.

Great Hike.
This time of year you don't need snowshoes. There are handful of steep ascent and descent, so you may need hiking poles for traction. Or you can old school and walk along the snow adjacent to the trail for more traction when ascending or descending.

I had planned to snowshoe but the trail was too packed down. Instead I hiked with poles - was difficult but very pretty. Some very steep sections where I wished I had cleats.

Fatbiking

Fun winter hike, but the hard packed snow combined with a lot of up and down was quite slippery. Cleats and/or poles advised!

beautiful views. easy and nice length of hike.

Very enjoyable route for snowshoeing. Some steep slopes that are challenging in winter but the varied terrain makes for a rewarding route that travels through different patches of forest and open field. There is also a fire pit and wood available at Lac Carman should a rest be needed.

Connects with a number of other snowshoeing trails to the north and south.

Just walked the first part of the trail from p17 (trail 53) - about 3.5 km in and then back - with my 7 year old. As I only did part of the route perhaps my 3-star rating is a bit low (I never got to Lac Philippe) Was mostly pleasant forest with gentle up-hills. The trail was quite wide and is under repair due to recent flooding. A decent amount of mountain bikers but they were always respectful.

Great view, especially in the fall.

Went midday during Fall Rhapsody and it was pretty busy but less so on the actual Skyline loop. There are two fairly decent sized free parking lots at the base and many other connecting trails all around.

This trail is nice as it follows Lac Phiippe and the fall colours are very pretty. A couple of negatives though:
1. The crowds! I was hoping that because the trail is in the Lac Philippe sector and not off the champlain parkway it would be less busy this time of year (October). Nope! Very busy. So you never get that true you-alone-in-the-woods feel.
2. In the fall they close the road at Breton beach. That means you have to walk through a series of beaches before you get to the trail. Of course the walk is also pretty but it would be nice if they left the road open all the way to parent beach so half the walk wasn't actually the walk to the trail.
Still, overall, very beautiful fall colours up here and the lake itself is nice

Nice easy trail to get outside with people who aren't super hikers. Has beautiful views in all seasons. Way too many people on weekends. A light hike/walk - there are stairs too. Done this many times.

Great place to see some fall colours in Gatineau park without all the crazy traffic on the main trails off of the champlain parkway. Nice wide trail (you can take a sturdy stroller) going through mature woods then scrubbier forest before you arrive at the lake and cabin. The parking lot (p17) is just past the roundabout before Wakefield. One odd thing: the Gatineau park trail doesn't show it as a loop while the all trails map does. I did see another unmarked trail when I got to the cabin. Maybe that was the return loop! We just went back the same way we came in.

Love this place :)

Maybe not do it again but still glad I did. It's a nice long walk, but in the end reaaaally easy. Not too crowded if you go for the loop.

An amazing trail that allows dogs in the Gatineau hills. Amazing views of the Ottawa Valley from the viewpoint!

Start at the Mackenzie King Estate and go to the left towards the Abbey Ruins (they are really neat), then keep heading left towards the Waterfall Trail. The waterfall isn't strong/large most of the year but it's still a pretty forest scene. Then you proceed back to the Lauriault Loop that brings you through lots of pretty mountain/forest, with some nice lookouts, through a culvert (so neat) and then up to the back side of Mackenzie King, where the Arch Ruins, Window To The Woods, and the famous French and English gardens are! I also recommend stopping in at the Estate Tearoom for some fancy (&delicious) high tea after your hike!
