My Favourite Spot

Excellent view, decent day hike!

Lovely and unique experience. Beautiful and unique lakes, campsites, portages and wildlife. Can't wait to come back.

Great trail...lots of steep hills especially near summit. Indications after Sawyer Hill trail are far and few in between. Need to follow blue diamonds but there aren't many. There are no benches or other lookouts on the way. Once at the top...views are nice but hard to confirm we were ins right spot. We didn't see any wildlife and no one else at this time of year!

Trail is nice but signage at the peak becomes difficult to discern. There is no indication of the end of the trail and thus I was left wondering "am I in the right spot? is this it?"

Beautiful views once you are at the top. Tough ascent and descent.

Nice walk, freezing water at the end of the beach...

Absolutely amazing hike. Lots of vistas to stop and admire the view from, and the final vista is amazing. Beautiful lake as well before ascending the Giant, where we saw Common Goldeneye ducks with babies. The first 8 km are very flat--after that it's a steep, yet challenging and rewarding climb. Highly recommend.

Great all day hike with rewarding view! If you plan well and start early, this trail is rewarding enough for kids. I brought mine, ages 10, 8, and just 6. Up to this hike they had not been over 10 miles in a day so we brought hybrid bikes to pedal the Kabeyun portion of the trail(about 7.5km). Kabeyun is a fairly flat trail with some rocks and tree roots to navigate around and quite wide so very comfortable for a young cyclist. At the base of the Top of Giant trail there is a bike rack that can hold 12 bikes. We locked ours as did the other couple that used the rack. Trail up is steep but isn't long enough to make kids complain too much and there are a few views through the trees for entertainment. View from the top is worth the hike for kids. We saw no other kids on the trail that day. Tea Harbor makes a great pit stop on the return as well and is a fairly private backcountry campsite with a sandy beach.

Critical part of getting to the head and chest, lots of hills ends with ice cold superior water

It's mainly just a connector trail to the main system, nothing much to say on its own.

Lots of wild thimbleberries and strawberries.
