My favorite Trail to hike year round. The views of Old Woman make you feel like you’re in Hawaïi or along PCH. Hiking with 35# toddler on your back makes it a good workout. Pretty moderate terrain :)

A beautiful hike with breathtaking views and waterfalls at every turn.

Nice trail , easier compared to the other trails in the area .. Have picnic tables at the beginning of the trail, for a quick snack

First note, this is NOT an easy trail. Anyone with knee or ankle issues may have a difficult time over the long sections with softball to volleyball sized round rocks covering the trail. I would rate this as moderately difficult as other trail sites do. While the lake is mentioned in the description, the high views are the best points to list. The scenery is gorgeous. The walk through the woods was a great break from driving. Mushroom enthusiasts will have a lot to look at.

Really great half day hike. Took us four hours with several long stops. Lots of amazing views and interesting things to see (lookouts, interior lake, Lake Superior shoreline, waterfall) along the way. Trail had some rocky sections with several up and downs but otherwise a comfortable hike.

Power hiked the ascents and ran the flats/descents. Several amazing views packed into a relatively short trail. Trailhead sign isn't lying about the steep ascents/descents and slippery sections. Roughly ten stream crossings, some over boulders, but overall trail is easy to navigate. Worth the effort, one of the best trails in Ontario!

Loved this trail. The trailhead sign warns trail takes 2-3 hours. We did it with two kids, 9 and 11, in 1.5 hours. It’s a steep climb, but worth the effort. There are about three lookout points

This is a beautiful trail!!! The lookouts are fantastic and the forest is amazing. The trail is well marked but it is very rugged with roots and boulders.
The sign at the trailhead rates this as a moderate trail - it's absolutely NOT easy! Be prepared for steep hills with lots of rocks and boulders to climb/descend.

Easy and fun :) We did it in less than 2 hours and take 30 minutes to eat on the beach !

Absolutely worth the drive from Sault Ste Marie! Trail is decently marked. Distance on here is def accurate. Definitely wear big spray if you’re hiking during summer - stagnant water near Lake Superior makes for a very buggy experience. Stop at EVERY scenic overlook, and spend time on the rocky beach. Do keep in mind that part of this trail goes on the rocky beach by Lake Superior. Lake Superior Provincial Park is phenomenal. Definitely swim in Orphan Lake and Lake Superior. Both feel so refreshing.

Definitely worth it! Amazing views!

This is a must to do. Bring swim wear. Absolutely stunning. Great opportunities for soaking in some natural whirl pools
Beautiful!!

Great hike. Beautiful views and bring your shorts for the back 9. Opportunity for a soak in a “pool” or two

A steep, hard 270 metre climb on the first 1.5 kms leads to some awesome views of Agawa Bay and majestic Lake Superior. The views are some of the best on the east Superior shore. There are lots of rocky sections requiring attention to footwork. The trail has been tagged as ‘dog’ and ‘kid’ friendly… only if they are used to tough, mid distance hikes! Normal traffic flow is clockwise, leaving a slightly more gradual descent and flat last 2 km to end the hike. Have hiked this six times… worth it every time!

Great family hike (with 6 year old, 2 year old, and 6 month old).

Easy trail to walk, however, little differing scenery to observe. Other maps will state that the road to Warp's Bay is 5km... but it's much longer! Be prepared for a 4hr outing, at least.

This trail is well worth the work involved. Be prepared to spend the day here! this hike is not for the faint of heart. You're looking at 6km up and then 6km down. If the trail is wet at all you will want to make some extra time to ensure safety. Hiking boots are highly suggested - I wouldn't recommend running shoes for this one.
I have been here both in the summer and in the fall- The photo is from the fall - well worth the wait :)

We did this trail in late May 2013, very nice trail, well kept. Very easy to do, perfect for the young kids to try out hiking. The Sand River at this time of year is at full force raging with a lot of running water, many picture perfect areas. They updated the restrooms, very nice and clean.
