Absolutely beautiful trail. Lots of history to witness. Trail says 'easy', certainly not an easy trail. Lots of steep rocks to climb. Pay attention to the trail markers!

I hike quite a bit. The trail says easy, not an 'easy' trail. You will be climbing up and down the Canadian Shield. Many areas will be steep. This trail has absolutely stunning views, worth the hike up!

We had a little difficulty finding the trailhead and ending up in the wrong bay. We got off of the canoe a bit too early. One tip, that that's omitted on the site for those with a canoe is, watch for the dock in the distance and use that as a marker for the trail. The challenging inclines of the climb were a bit daunting at times when you're trying to beat the sunset. When you finally do make it to the summit, the views are incredible and definitely breathtaking. Don't lose track of the trail! I definitely recommend a GPS if you lose sight of the trail. It's easy to get turned around if you lose sight of the markers.

Paddled in to trailhead from Bell Lake on a canoe rented from Kilarney Canoes. This is the access to Silver Peak that was recommended by the staff at the Killarney Provincial Park office. Hike was very nice, much of the initial third is fairly wide and not very steep. Gets steeper as it starts ascending to the peak, there are some rocky sections. Biggest challenge is that the trail to the peak is quite wet in many places due to nearby streams and rivulets running down. This creates some mud even on a no-rain day like today. The rocks are also slippery. Not a big deal if you have good waterproof hiking boots and take your time. Views from the peak were beautiful, and the peak itself is quite nice with near-white rock, providing beautiful contrast to the lovely fall fall colours. Turkey vulture flew by so close I could almost touch it. Our dog had no problems on this trail.

I completed this trail solo for the second time in late September, 2019. I did the loop in 4 days / 3 nights (H49, H34, H19). After getting soaked from a big storm on night 2, I had a difficult hike day 3 (longest leg, perhaps the most challenging terrain, a heavier pack, and wet boots / socks), which led to some gnarly blisters and a fair bit of cursing. Despite less than ideal conditions, I'm glad I did this hike again - I had plenty opportunities to revel in the vast beauty of this place. I highly recommend this trail to anyone looking for a challenging / rewarding back-country experience. Use a good map to plan and be honest with yourself about your abilities.

More moderate then easy. Slippery +++ in some places. Beautiful though.

Such a beautiful trail! My favourite one in Killarney. Loved walking through the magical looking pine forest, looked like a fairy tale. And the views from the ridge were absolutely beautiful. We hiked it just after it rained and the colours of everything really popped! You get amazing lookout views for not too much effort, and I liked the forest scenery better than other trails in the area. Definitely recommend this one!

Beautiful trail! Definitely would say it is a medium difficulty, as there are several steep ascents and descents, very rocky and lots of roots. We did this trail after it had rained so the rocks were very slippery. Definitely recommend wearing hiking boots as it made it easier. Nice views, enjoyed walking through the beaver dam. Took us about 1hr 45min steady walking with a few stops at lookout points.

Pretty hike. No one else on it in the afteenoon on a Saturday in September, which was a nice change after the Chicanishing (sp) trail we did earlier the same day. Beautiful sounds of late summer birds and insects singing among the wildflowers in the bog. Lots of tree roots on the way, and some rocky sections, but no major scrambles.

This is a fantastic trail! Every climb provides a reward from waterfalls, to rock climbing to scrambles and different terrain keeping you entertained. Campsites are wonderful. Next to no bugs. This is a difficult trail, make sure to train properly.

I loved this hike ! So many beautiful landscapes with the reflection on the lakes. I definitely recommend it !

Completed the trail in 4 days, including Silver Peak. Distance was more than 78km, closer to 120km but not sure why? Doesn’t seem to be mentioned by other reviewers! The distance was recorded on my Garmin, which I use training for marathons so I feel confident it’s close to accurate. We had near perfect weather and no bugs, camp sites were excellent and we enjoyed a swim 3 out of 4 nights in clear, cool water. Gorgeous views, hard earned after some serious scrambling and inclines, especially on day two. A very rewarding and beautiful backcountry experience in Ontario.

I completed the trail in 6 days 5 nights and it was challenging but rewarded with epic views. The first and last 15km are decent and the rest will kick your butt with inclines for days. With all the hard work, don’t forget to stop and enjoy some views!

Great little trail, some beautiful lookout spots, lots of wild blueberries along the way!

I recommend bringing money for parking . It is a provincial park and it is nice to see . Nice beach right before the trail .
