Explore the most popular trails in Dalewood Reservoir Trail with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

I would recommend this trail for anyone who needs some time to relax and be one with nature. Its very easy to follow as it is numbered along the way! Great for biking as well.

Good hike around the lake. Most lookout points need branches cleared so that you may see better.

Road to the parking area is closed. There is an orange snow fence at both ends of the trailhead stating that the trail is closed due to it being "private property". Easy enough to walk around the fence. We did not come across any other people the whole time. The trail is becoming overgrown and very narrow in places. Also very slick and muddy in a lot of spots (due to heavy rain the day before). Not many mosquitos considering the proximity to the water. The distance is closer to 7km having to park 200m (approx) away from the parking area near the bridge/trailhead. The bridge construction seems to be complete now so even though the road is closed you can walk across, making this a loop trail once again.

Quiet and peaceful...aside from when the snake slithered across the path and I legitimately screamed so loud I scared myself!

This is the trail that made me fall in love with mountain biking. It used to be a 16 km loop which got quite a bit more technical as it went on but still a fun beginner trail.

The trail needs some work. The St Thomas gun club could be heard in the distance shooting continuously on a Sunday morning Sept 2nd at 10 am.

Nice variation. A little muddy in places. Half of the trail is closed so had to walk through campground to road to get back to parking area. The bridge is closed but you are still able to get to parking lot.

Just an update on the trail . I spoke to the Kettle Creek Conservation people about this trail . They said that the funds have become available to open Dalewood North again . The trail clearing will start in the fall of 2017 . This will put the St Thomas trails back on the map and will complete the trail to the Dam Patterson . I will post again when I have confirmed it as open . K !!

Yes a nice hike around a man made reservoir . This is one of the free hikes from Kettle Creek Conservation . Many spots you need a permit to hike into . It would have been nice if the north section was open . I found out later they didn't have enough money to keep the trail clear . It's not in the budget until autumn 2017 . When reopened you can make your way up to the Dan Patterson place . I guess we will be back in the fall of 2017 , see you there !!
