The Long Lake Park Reserve Loop is located in Long Lake Provincial Park, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The trail loops through the park following along the banks of Witherod and Long Lakes. The trail begins on the flat gravel pathway from the Long Lake or Witherod Lake trail entrances. From here this loop then follows into the woods on a trail which can be difficult to find, the best entrance is to follow the map and take the trail down into the woods, into Long Lake at the fork. Alternatively the trail can be followed along the side of Witherod Lake, before moving into the woods along the mapped pathway to the left. Parking Information: Parking is available at the Long Lake parking lots off of Northwest Arm Drive, or at the entrance of the Witherod Lake trail, on the side of the road off of Northwest Arm Drive.Show more

Witherod Lake is a looped gravel trail located in Armdale, Nova Scotia, and is a connector trail to the Long Lake Provincial Park trails. Witherod offers views of the lake, as well as a relatively level pathway suitable for walking and biking, with numerous bike racks along the trail. The level path makes this trail wheelchair and stroller friendly. The trail is well mapped, and has numerous offshoots leading into Long Lake Provincial Park. The trail is open year round, and can be used for winter hiking and snowshoeing. Parking Information: Parking is available on the side of the road near the trailhead located on North West Arm Drive. Parking is also available at the official Long Lake Provincial Park parking lot on North West Arm Drive, from which a short 1km straight path will lead to the Witherod loop.Show more

Long Lake Wilderness Trail Loop is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and guides hikers through the woods of Long Lake Provincial park. The trail follows the large main loop of the Long Lake wilderness, winding around the side of Long Lake, and offering numerous look-off and swimming points. The trail is not marked, and numerous offshoots and side trails exist. Caution is recommended for hikers seeking to follow the various side trails, and a map should be consulted. The trail is rocky and at times muddy, with a number of small elevation points.
