A nice, easy walk. Partly along the water, some open areas, and some through old forest. Most is level surface however some sections are rocky so just take your time in these areas.

We love Salt Marsh trail especially in spring/ early summer and fall. It can be a bit too windy if the weather is windy or gets too hot in peak of hot weather. But otherwise it’s a great trail. You can see blue herons, eagles and many other interesting birds and sea creatures. It’s well maintained and has washroom in the beginning if needed. Great for hiking, biking.

Would be great for biking, though I wish I didn’t have to double back and return on the same route. Great scenery and bird watching. Loved catching the tide changing at Lawrencetown Beach which is where I parked. Very flat and manicured trail, beginner /afternoon stroll level of skill required. Very much a wheelchair accessible trail!!!!

High recommend the trail.

Only walked about 4km on this trail, but it was an easy stroll with beautiful views of the saltwater marsh. I think this trail would be most enjoyable taking a bike and covering more distance.

This was a lovely hike with lots of different terrain, beautiful views and good signage makes it pretty easy to follow. The pup and I will return!

Absolutely awesome. Had my six year old ride along side for 16kms and my three year old in a bike trailer all the way to Lawrencetown beach. My wife stayed with the kids while I rode back to Bissett Lake to get the car. Great day!

Great biking trail! Scenic, well-groomed. Came out at Lawrencetown Beach - fantastic spot to stop and rest and then turn around and head back. Love it!

Great views. Must do! Cycling only otherwise won’t see anything

Great trail for on leash dog walking. Tons of other people around

Kinda boring and not aloud to have dogs of leash but over all not bad.

Nice flat trail you can do a short walk or a long one depending on your mood.
It's out and back easy to navigate with nice views

Nice easy little looped trail, nice scenery and good parking
Also toilets on the way round

Very quiet trail, usually only see about 2 or 3 people each time I go there. My dog loves it and there's a few areas that are just a huge field so I usually bring the brisbee!

Can get pretty windy near the water some days (if you choose to add on Poor's farm road to your hike) but it's beautiful!

Walking, running, biking, It is hands down the best trail in all of Halifax. Beautiful scenery, friendly people, and nature. Amazing!

Great walk for humans and their furry companions! Suitable for older children. Close to the city. Costly Farm section not groomed, though the rest of the trails seem to be primarily gravel.

Beautiful scenery, not overly busy, quite ! Trails aren't "perfect" and you can definitely get muddy. My four legged friend and I had a blast though

Great spot to walk the dog

I am surprised with 2 stars on these trails. Some of the trails are bike friendly, but most of them north of salt marsh are not. It is on leash for dogs & for difficulty I would say easy to moderate. Moderate portion is North of Salt Marsh trail. I really enjoy these trails, but they are located in my area. I would not drive from Halifax for this trail.

Great Sunday afternoon walk with the kids. A few hills but the path is crusher dust so easy to push a stroller on it. Some wildlife the day we were there lots of birds and a few deer. The trail travels through an open field then through some woods then opens up again with nice views of the Atlantic Ocean, Musquodoboit Harbour.

Please ignore my review, i posted on the wrong trail. Never been on this one. Sorry.

Unlike the atlantic view and the shearwater flyer trails this one isn't suitable for a road bike. I made it but it wasn't easy.
