The hike was amazing it took us 2 hours. We started at the top of end of the mountain so it was easy hiking down. Other fellow hikers we saw on the way said they don't recommend hiking from the bottom parking lot coz one will have to do a lot of hiking up. We hiked September and one of the park ranger told us all the bears were preparing to hibernate they are eating all the pine nuts on the trail so we saw about 50+ bear droppings fresh and old. Saw beautiful birds, foxes and garter snakes too. The hike was amazing kids can do it too. Bring lots of water and food.

This trail was incredible. It wasn't as strenuous as I anticipated, but there are a few pretty steep inclines. The views were stunning and the trail was easy to navigate. At the bald hill junction there was a 7 minute (hike) detour that takes you directly to bald hill. Even though it's not technically part of the trail, I highly suggest taking the detour! The views on top of bald hill are absolutely breathtaking!
I had my first bear encounter on this (Reeves Ravine) trail. Luckily the bear was more scared of me than I was of it, and it took off fairly quick. There was LOTS of poop along the trail, so the encounter didn't surprise me too much. Overall, a fantastic experience on this trail! Highly suggest it, but remember we are sharing these trails with wild animals who call the wilderness their home. Please, please, please be respectful and safe! :)

Excellent trail, properly rated as difficult. Not recommended hiking when trail is wet (steep slopes and slippery clay & shale). Trail has parking at each end of trail. There is a privy & BBQ's at the east end parking lot. This track is not the full trail as we tracked 4.5km (one way), the most scenic section of the actual 6.4km starting from the east trailhead.

First half is a hard slog through mud with not much to redeem it. If I did it again (which I probably won't), I'd start at the trail end, go halfway, and come back. Better views and more wildlife that direction. But there are much better trails in this area, such as Gorge Creek.

Great trail even for young children. Well groomed but has light traffic

Nice trail, will reward you halfway a beautiful scenery of Lake Kinosao and sometimes you just have to bring mosquito net during summer.
