I would recommend this trail to anyone who doesn’t need a maintained trail. Wet feet, happy heart!!!!

The trail is nice. We drove our truck right to the top and walked around up there. We had 3 small children and had a camp fire lunch. It is beautiful up there

Always wanted to go here - finally did today. Drove most of the way in and hiked the final 3 kms. to the lookout point. We had a fire and a picnic while enjoying the spectacular view. It's worth the trip. (We did see a bear on the trail.) I'd go here again and park further away.

To answer Kevin Esau's comments we have uploaded a recording for the alternative route to access the trail from the east, therefore avoiding the river crossing. Please review the recording "Pike's Peak Alternative Access" and details for more info.

Good trail. Wide gravel/rock trail. Minimal mud holes (unfortunately). some flooded spots due to beavers, but easily passible .

Tried the hike on May 31, 2018. Parked at the fork of the snowmobile traile/maintenance trail. Northbound was closed due to a closed road sign stating bridge was out. Westbound was closed due to fire risk sign. Tried walking to river. Once I got there, bridge was out and no way to cross the river. Did not try to bush wack to a possible crossing so not sure if there are options. So until river goes down or bridge is replaced I would not recommend

Love this trail. Have to cross river on foot...wear good shoes and take a walking stick. Make noise to let bears know you are in their neighbourhood.
