Explore the most popular Bird Watching trails in Thetis Lake Regional Park with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

Another leisurely walk around Thetis lake. This time we went counter clockwise and tried the upper path. Trails are in great condition, nice views of lake, trees, moss and ferns.

My wife isn’t into intense hikes so this path was perfect. It’s a great length to start getting back into fitness and doesn’t have any steep or scary sections. I like that you get a lot of open views of the lake. It feels like the terrain changes as you go offering rocks, moss, trees, creeks and plenty of vegetation. My wife said “it’s so beautiful!” at least 10 times. We will be coming back for sure and I like that we have the option to add upper Thetis Lake Trail if we want to extend the loop! Always looking for people to trail run / extreme hike with, hit me up if interested!

Short trail with great views. Easy way to get to the summit of a mountain!

Easy trail for that quick loop walk. Beautiful scenery. Busy in summer months but off season is nice and quiet.

very good trail, lots of little off trails so it makes it very fun to explore, the view at the top is well worth the hike up

Pretty and easy. Great hike for family and dogs. Bring your swimsuit!

Beautiful, easy and safe. I went alone and met lots of dogs along the way. You can swim so bring your suit. Made me want to buy a SUP board :)

Super nice trail, some small hills. It is paid parking ($2.25 for the whole day). Really nice beach too! Definitely would go again.

Excellent short hike. Lovely views of the lake.

Great short hike

Nice easy to follow trail off the access Rd at the end of Stuart mtn rd. Steep only at beginning, about 30 min to summit.

easy, some hills in the first half but then mostly flat. have good views of lake and forest.

nice hike in the evening, you can get to the top and not do the whole thing

Great easy walk with a couple of inclines. Beautiful setting around the lake and dog friendly.

Condition: Great. The Upper & Lower Thetis trails are wide and groomed. The offshoot single track trails have a couple places with blowdown but are easily navigated, some muddy parts. Easy to follow. Distance / Elevation: Great intervals, some good solid gains with nice breaks in between. View / Aesthetic: Beautiful, forested, quiet. The lake portions always have other walkers, hikers, dogs, and runners but the single track trails off the main are quiet.

Great hike for younger kids (my youngest is 5). I love how it suddenly opens up to arbutus and exposed rock near the top, and then the steeper trail on the last pitch to the peak is a lot of fun! Great view of the city from the top :)

Did this trail finally yesterday and was super disappointed in Victoria dog owners. It is full of dog poop and footprints of people having stepped in poop and tracking it over the trail. Thank you for wrecking what could have been a wonderful walk. Losers.

great hike with lots of trail options. plus several good views in different directions. dog friendly too!

Trail Condition: Well maintained, easy to follow. Aesthetic: Gorgeous trail all around. Distance/Elevation: Good distance, more roll-y and no big hills or steep elevation. View Point/Summit: No summit, but lots of great little view points.
