Good walk, steady climb from the parking lot with a steep section at the end. The alternate return via the campground is a nice change of scenery with a steeper decline from the campground to the parking lot.

This was my favorite hike I did while visiting Kamloops! I love that it’s a steady incline to get up to the rock and the view is absolutely breathtaking!! When you come back down it was awesome to see that you could continue on if you wanted a longer hike! Ended up doing a much longer hike along the lake and will absolutely be doing this one again when I am back!

Trail is in great shape and makes for a smooth hike. Some steep sections, but the views make it worth it.

Nice hike. Beautiful forest and a magnificent view of the lake once you reach the top

Loved the hike. Great mix of flat by the water then steady climb under a mix of trees then a set of fun switch backs ending in a fantastic view. There is even an easy path if you don't like switchbacks or going back the same way you went up.

Short and only kinda tuff at the end but worth it for the view.

I live in Kamloops, so this is an easy choice on a hot day being ~35-40 minutes away. Beautiful lake, this is one of my favorite trails in the area because of the rewarding view of the whole lake at the top. Not steep, moderately steady incline all the way up which leads for a nice sweat on a hot day. About 40-45 minutes to the top with a dog if I remember correctly, however for me, time does not exist on the trails. Good canoeing/kayaking on this lake with a different view of gibralter rock from the centre. Decent fishing as well, stayed at the campground once and all is great. East end of the beach is dog friendly however both ends of the beach have a lot of goose droppings, I don't use the beach here so it is not an issue.
