Great hike! Very moody but perfect to go to a place not so crowded!
The airplane and destination makes it a really fun hike.

Very very muddy, I went a few days ago and honestly I would wait until the trail dries out and do it next year. But the view at the end was awesome. It’s a shame for the mud, there is so many different trails because people are trying to not swim but then you get lost getting there.

I love this trail. lots of beautiful trees and a boardwalk that leads to a beach. worth checking out and wander on the beach !

Beautiful figure eight loop. Both trails are open. Trail A has some road noise, Trail B is tranquil and quiet. Amazing spider webs on the trees when the sun hits them just right.

Great, easy hike! Very cool boardwalk leads you through the green Forrest floor. Super easy and short.

Muddy but great trail. Amazing view of the plane in the end. Keep in mind that you’ll have to climb over multiple trees. Completed it in 2:20. Many different paths that lead to the same point.

Depending on the time of year be prepared to get knee deep in mud! It's a fairly easy trail with little incline. My dog loved swimming through the mud - my vehicle however disagreed! It's a really fascinating hike, when we got to the bomber we climbed up it and ate sandwiches appreciating the fact the everyone managed to survive the crash despite how mangled the plane is. Really worth taking a couple hours to do.

Not strenuous, but an absolute stunner. Combination on old cedar forest, stream valleys and the finale at schooner cove beach. All in 2km roundtrip.

Wonderful rainforest, only drawback is the traffic noise pollution along some parts of the trail, due to the proximity to Highway 4.

we were lucky that the trail was dry when we went, still quite muddy though. not very well marked, lots of other trails running through it but we followed the orange/pink tape, found our way easily. easy hike, well worth it! it was neat to see a part of history!

Make sure you go on a clear day for the view! Fun and challenging hike. The first, flat section of the trail was boggy so be prepared to sink into some mud if it's rained recently! Definitely happy I was wearing boots and not trail runners.

We did both loops with our kids, stopping along the way to read the signs and learn more about the rainforest. Such a beautiful environment. The boardwalks are fantastic...many steps but very doable for active families.

Beautiful nature!

Walk through beautiful moss covered forest down to gorgeous beach. All along wooden boardwalks / steps.

Great hike. Amazing views and old growth cedar forests. It’s well marked, but lots of roots, trees, and rocks to climb over. Getting down is as tough as going up. This hike Is much more on the “hard” end of the scale, and can be quite challenging esp above 300m elevation. You’re asked to pay $10 per hiker at the camp steward station. Well worth it though.

A “must do” if visiting Tofino. Lots of stairs and a narrow wooden pathway. Not for anyone who struggles physically

Mud gets really thick at some points and becomes difficult to maneuver about halfway in... Got one leg stuck, after that didn’t really care much about keeping clean, so prepare to get a little messy

Trail is absolutely stunning and great for kids. We did both loops with our little one in a baby carrier. Lots of steps but the boardwalk makes the hike easy as pie. Nice and calm beautiful walk for our family

This trail was AWESOME. I was skeptical about it being a little much for my wife hiking with our little one in a carrier but the trail was not sketchy at all. Boardwalk the entire way through the rainforest, to then opening up to a gorgeous stretch of pacific beach. I think we just lucked out with timing because the tide seemed low so we were able to hike out to one of the little islands you could tell is surrounded by water when the tide is in. But even if you were to hike this trail during high tide you are totally safe on the trail itself. Just don’t wander too far on to the beach at the end, that’s where you need to be considerate of tide danger.

awesome historical distination. passed by a big round hole full of water (where the plane's munitions were blown up). VERY boggy trail, follow the ropes

Un magnifique parcourt dans la forêt sur un chemin en bois

Beautiful little trail

Be ready for mud and trail that is tough to follow at times. But fun to do and a good adventure!

Its really hard to remember your in BC when walking through this rainforest. It takes you to a place that you envision being so far away! Easy walk and kids absolutely love it (moss on everything is a huge deal apparently :) Can't wait to go back

Loop B is still close

It was muddy, but due to the cold weather some bits were frozen, so we were fine in regular boots, though I could see it getting messy if the climate was warmer.
However, Milo my French bulldog was in desperate need of a bath afterwards.

The hike took us longer than expected because we had to manoeuvre around the puddles but that was half of the fun! It was neat to see the old plane sitting there among the trees. After a cup a tea to warm us up and a few photo ops we made our way back.

Overall we had a great time doing this hike and would definitely do it again. It was a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve!

It is a muddy hike but worth it to see that plane sitting there on the side of the mountain

Awesome boardwalk through the rainforest. We saw salmon in the stream. Mushrooms and other fungi everywhere! There were a lot more stairs than I expected, but it's only 1.1km on the north side. Good signage, family enjoyed it.
