Beautiful trail! We’re three people in our mid-20’s and it took us about 3.5 hours in total. Including walking around to the other side of Kokanee Lake when we got there (which I recommend doing). We don’t have 4 wheel drive and there is one very bumpy part of the road that made us spin our wheels a bit. The rest was fine. Just be careful of that if you also don’t have 4WD!

Amazingly gorgeous hike all the way to the cabin. A little bit of forest a little bit of alpine. Lots of picturesque lakes & creeks. 16km round trip. Took 6.5 hours round trip with 5 kids (includes a leisurely lunch in the sunshine at the cabin and a little exploration of the lake). Would rate as easy to moderate in difficulty. Not too much for elevation gain over all. Great for families w kiddies.

Go from here to Sapphire lakes to find the fifth star.

great condition. a bit of a grind on the first half but opens up to beautiful habitat and views. Marmot on trail wasn't shy! We went to the far end if the lake. we complete with 2 teens and a 10 year old in 4 hours including a leisurely lunch time.

We did the 1mi. loop around Gibson Lake before making the trek to Kokanee Lake and are glad we did. We saw some mushrooms that appeared to be Amanita muscaria. Well maintained trail with a nice moderate pace all the way up to Kokanee. Once you get to the lake, though, you'll stumble upon a huge playground of large rocks on which you can spend all day scrambling.

Beautiful trail! Make sure you hike all the way to the far end of Kokanee lake and into the meadow at the other end. We were not going to initially but glad we did!

Absolutely stunning trail! Beautiful views the entire way to the top with streams and waterfalls the entire way up. Lots of cute ground critters - so keep your eyes peeled. Not too strenuous of a climb up, but it definitely gets the heart rate up. Hiking poles and sturdy boots would be handy but aren't a must.

Amazing hike as the other reviews mentioned. We traveled from Idaho in the US and car camped overnight! We drove the very steep, long road to the trailhead in a Prius so if we made it then so can you. I filmed the video and trail and put it up on YouTube for anyone interested! It might give you a better idea of what to expect. You can find it here: https://youtu.be/DOjdQJNusU8 Or just search on YouTube ‘Kokanee Lake’ and it should be the third one down. Overall this was an awesome hike! The scenery was absolutely amazing. Enjoy!

Amazing trail with stunning scenery, well maintained and the lake is beautiful.

Amazing Trail, well maintained and easy to follow, beautiful views all the way to the Kokannee Glacier Cabin. It you go pass the cabin for about 5-10 minutes to Enterprise pass there’s a stunning view on the Glacier.

Great hike! A lot of mosquitos in places (especially near water and in rocky areas) but this was manageable. Amazing views of nearby peaks, partially covered by snow. Toughest at the beginning. Caught sight of one black bear in some trees just off the trail about 2 km in.

Gorgeous hike! Moderate difficulty. Definitely keep going past the first viewpoint at the lake - it gets better and better :)

Absolutely stunning hike! It can be moderate to hard for new hikers, but it’s still possible! I would recommend this to everyone! Next time we will definitely be spending the night.

Great hike to Woodbury in the summer of 2017.

Hands down the best hike I’ve done so far.

With just over 1000m elevation gain over 7km, be prepared to go up, and up, and more up. Did this in mid September and the colours were spectacular! The Silver Spray cabin is worth spending the night at. Make sure you book with Alpine club Canada as it only has spots for 10 people. I wouldn't recommend the road for low clearance vehicles, overnight rain eroded it even more. I got through the last little stretch ok but made my Subaru Forester work for it on the way back!

Beautiful hike, well worth staying the night and hiking even more.

The views were absolutely stunning. Colours everywhere, we have been luckyenough, so sun was shining most of the time. One of my favorite hikes in Canada so far. And the walk uphill was nothing hard. It is totally worth it!

One of my favourites. Best to head up early so you can avoid the trail traffic, but once you hit Kokanee Lake, it thins out. Pretty smokey up there right now, but still worth it!

CHECK THE STATUS OF THE FOREST FIRE BEFORE GOING

Hiked this trail every year for 4 years. Absolutely beautiful

A great hike to do on a day with visibility for amazing views! (Ymir peak can be spotted!) Well defined trail, just use with caution and watch for mountain bikers. There is a bench at the look out which offers a great spot for a rest or lunch.

It looks like a lovely place to hike but no where does it say that dogs are prohibited until AFTER you’ve driven up the 16k dirt road. I recommend the park service let folks know at the bottom of the hill. Still, I plan on returning as it looks lovely. Don’t try driving up in a low clearance vehicle.

Beautiful trail. Great for people who don't mind a steady climb. Lots of little critters and beautiful flowers on the way to the final destination. Lake was freezing but worth a quick dip. Will do again!

The 10 mi road to the TH is challenging for street-only vehicles. The trail rises steadily to a string of stunning subalpine lakes. Nelson was 92 and blanketed in smoke, but it was 75 and nearly clear on the trail. Well worth the drive and hike.
