Holmes Peak has a nice view and Rowntree adds a bit of variety. Not the most scenic aside from the view point. The larger hike up to Jocelyn Hill is far superior, but this makes due when time is a restriction.

Great medium-length day hike with some good climbs sprinkled throughout. Hot and dry in the sun but lots of shade to be found too. Our dog loved it - creeks are dry in the summer though. A good workout!

Easy/flat for the first half, more steep in the 2nd part. Great view at the top. Don’t miss the cute little swing at the summit.

Excellent hike especially if you want to burn some calories! Lots of steep ups and steep downs. Took 7 hours with a half hour lunch break at Mackenzie Bight. The views were spectacular. Forgot to turn the recording off so disregard the line after the parking lot towards town.

Difficult with no real end at Elbow Point. Don’t recommend going downhill to the water.

4km in length, a bit more than advertised. The section from the beach towards the waterfall (along Cascade Trail) is quite steep/difficult. Not much of a waterfall right now, we were told the best time to see it is in March.

Lovely hike with numerous viewpoints and a wonderful view at the top. Google Maps takes you halfway up the trail so walk was quicker and likely steeper. Some loose rocks so be careful of footing on the coastal arm.

This is Shortest way possible to get the view from Jocelyn Hill starting at the google maps trailhead. Takes one hour each way approximately. Stunning view at the top of the Finlayson arm.

nice view at the top. going up was steep but not too difficult. didn't like coming down though. not too windy, so the sun made it very warm today.

I would give this a solid do not do. I started on Rabbity Trail from Mackenzie blight and bailed after 6 km. Later I found out the Rabbity Trail is closed and for good reason, it’s a super narrow ledge over varied moss, rocks and fallen trees, all route finding and really exposed along a very steep cliff that ends in the ocean. At points I was scrambling over slippery mossy rocks where a missed step would result in a terrifying fall down a cliff and into the ocean. I’ve done a lot of challenging hiking and I would not do this again, just too risky and not fun.

The sections of trail that go down to Elbow Point are not well-traveled. I would not do this without poles and decent hiking footwear. It is a beautiful hike, off the beaten trail, but should not be attempted unless you like climbing and staying on top of your location. Hard to rate, as it depends on your fitness level, but I would say not for hikers who are not in pretty decent shape. You need a decent supply of water and the ability to do some uphill for good portions of the hike. If that is not your thing I would stay on the main trails. From Emma Dixon, around the loop the longer way it took us 4.5 hours, 700 m elevation.

great way to spend a day! over the top and back is a long day but just hiking to one of the view points from either parking lot is a great time. in this recording I went over the summit to the other side, then back again + The Cascade loop. long day!

Great hike - definitely a steep down, and lots of up but well worth it. The trail to Jocelyn hill from Emma Dixon is well maintained and not very challenging. After Jocelyn Hill, that is a bit different. The trail from there is marked by bits of flagging tap (be prepared to play a good game of eye spy) as the trail is overgrown in many places. The view from Jocelyn hill and then the view from Elbow point is really spectacular and a great contrast from being basically right on the water vs way above. Be prepared with a charged phone, the map from here uploaded, lots of water, good shoes, and maybe hiking poles if you’re a bit wobbly on steep downhills. We would probably rate it closer to difficult for challenge, but could be moderate if you’re used to steep hikes. We also found that the trail was closer to 11km and took us about 4 hours after a few snack and water breaks.
