Great hike, not too busy. Got wonderful weather for the day, would be much more difficult with any precipitation with the exposed roots. The wild flowers in the alpine were in full bloom..

If you’re going for the photo ops, pick a clear day- but if you’re a rain or shine kind of hiker, this is a great trek even in wet conditions; a little chilly at the top and very windy so come prepared. The meadows were gorgeous even with limited visibility. If you’re planning to stop and rest and have a lunch I recommend doing so in one of the valleys, as once you get past them there aren’t really any ideal spots to relax. If you’re bringing your dog you will be able to complete the trail but not reach the peak, as the last stretch is a rocky climb. Will definitely be returning in better weather to see what we missed.

Did Skyline trail 2 to Hozomeen Ridge. Holy smokes on a hot day 36.2km out and back in one day. After about 6km climb at the beginning there's a lot of up and down and side-hilling. And only a single water source of run off about 6 klicks from summit (may dry up soon). Not sure if you can see it but I did record the whole hike. it's tough to do in one day.

Backpacked as far as Buckhorn for two night stay. Hiked to Alpine Meadows next day and back out of Buckhorn on third day. Beautiful to have three days to enjoy the flowers and the mountains. Amazing views. 4 Celsius one night in mid July so come prepared for that. Some bugs, I used Deet and was fine. Others camping there did a lot of complaining though. Went early in the week and the forecast was for rain ( there was very little). this meant I saw very few people. Highly recommend this way of exploring this very popular area. The hike is easy for the fairly fit but a lot of climbing from Buckhorn to Meadows and from Buckhorn back to parking lot. I'm pretty old and somewhat fit. I did fine.

Good hike with many options for base camp setup. I went today (aug 8) and the flower blooms were just ending. Still lots of colors in the flowers with plenty bees and butterflies, but the soil is dusty dry and needs a good rain to get the flowers blooming to their fullest. Good hike overall.

Hiked into PCT camp July 25. After setting up camp, went up Windy Joe and thought I could have totally set up camp in the ranger station! Really beautiful up there. Bugs were bad around 5pm so didnt take too long up and rushed back to camp. The incline is killer with all your overnight gear and food and water.

Great amazing hike! Hiked into PCT camp night before. Hiked Frosty July 26. Started early to beat the hot sun and bugs. Trail was good with loads of switch back however not much shade and no wind so super hot. About 400m to summit, the climb is intense! It's basically scrambling with a foot wide path, rocky, one side of mountain a sheer drop. I'm not fearful of most things but I had fear of falling and froze a few times before convincing myself to move on. Not for the faint of heart! I hiked back to camp instead of doing loop. Views are phenomenal!!

Hiked into Buckhorn camp July 27. Set up camp and relaxed as I've hiked 21kms already. Next day started for First Brother at 8am. Very peaceful, quiet, beautiful, less bugs. The view on the top is amazing! Clear beautiful day and I was only one. You cant actually get to the other 2 brothers however can be seen from First Brother at an elevation of 2272m. I recommend starting early in the morning because there are barely any bugs, the alpine is peaceful and not as sweltering hot. You also beat the mad rush of day tourists, it's like the wildebeest migration! The wild flowers are truly enchanting.

Hiked it July 27th. The wild flowers were spectacular as were the views. We started off at 8:45 am. There were intermittent rain showers initially, but then began to clear at the 3km mark (saw only a few hikers) The wind really picked up. by the time we reached the summit it was really blowing hard. we stayed for 2 min, trying to soak up the view before heading back. Felt it was too dangerous as the wind was gusting. Descending, there were a lot of hikers. There weren't any bugs, likely because of the wind. Definitely go early if you can. I loved the hike. Highly recommend it! Took 4.75 hours round trip.

Great trail. Climbing to the true summit took 1.5 hours from the east summit over loose and somewhat exposed rock. It's possible to bushwhack down the west ridge to lightning/flash lake, lots of deadfall but mostly easy going.

Beauty

The wildflowers were absolutely stunning today! Definitely bring bug spray, and remember not to leave valuables in your vehicle. Multiple windows were smashed at the parking lot when we arrived.

This ended up being a tough snowshoe towards the end. Great workout and didn’t see another person.

Pretty easy hike, and well marked. I’ve only hiked it once in the summer, but have snowshoed it twice.

Now is the time to go for wildflowers! They add a lot of interest to the meadow areas. Perfect family hike with kids. The views are great considering the relatively low elevation gain. It's spread out through the 21 km's so it's not overly noticeable. The first campsite is easy to reach. It's still getting chilly at night. We had all weathers, including snowfall in mid July so as usual, be prepared.

Medium/difficult hike! Gradual high elevations. Best time to go is in mid June to mid July to see the alpine stunning flowers!!!

Meadows are almost in full bloom..... I think 1 more week and they will be at their peak. So beautiful!!
