Did this on January 19 and there was no path from the Black Mountain loop over to Eagle Bluffs so our group had to break ground. The start of the hike is an entirely uphill slog that runs next to the ski runs. Once you get to the top, you can either go left or right on the Black Mountain loop. The Eagle Bluffs trail starts from a yellow sign that saying that the, “Black Mountain, Marked winter trail ends here”.

Great trail for snowshoeing this time of year. We only went as far as the lake loop. We were the first tracks around the loop at 2pm. The trail is well marked even in the snow. I would recommend getting to the mountain early if you want to find parking

Great hike! Did this on January 8th. Snow on the trail, bring your snow shoes...I did this with small spikes. Can be done in under 2 hours. Tried to got further. But the end of the trail is closed for winter conditions. I am going to do this one again.

Snowshoe'd up on Jan 4. Hardpacked snow and icy in some areas. Very steep on the final approach to the top. You should bring snowshoes or wear spikes. Either would be sufficient for the conditions. Saw lots of people trying to hike up in regular boots or running shoes and they were slipping and sliding all over the place. It was very foggy throughout the whole hike. No views at the top because of the fog. Overall good, short hike. I'd love to do it again on a sunny day.

Tried to go up Christmas gully as the ski runs block the normal traihead, conditions changed and decided to turn back.

I did this hike today Jan 4th. I had snowshoes and crampons with me but I didn’t use them as the trail was groomed. The view from the top is spectacular.

Pretty views and waterfalls but very confusing trails. Someone should definitely work on those.

Just got back. Recent rain melted some of the snow. Mostly slushy terrain. Beautiful views on top. First half of the hike is very easy, second half is relatively challenging but won’t last long before you reach the top.

Beautiful trail, several paths but alltrails alerted me when off trail. Go past the trail to the photo view point (shown on map) on the right of the gravel road at the end. Beautiful view point.

Awesome for walking your dog!

Fun dog friendly snow shoe trail. We got to the trailhead at 8:30am and there were already a couple of cars. Parking lot was full by the time we finished. Trail is great condition and very well marked. Snowshoes aren’t necessary, but nice to have especially during the steeper sections.

Super cool. Keep going up after the first falls, to the service road, take right and you’ll see another falls. Easy hike but pretty cool falls. Careful on the edges.

Snowshoed this trail today. Took around 2.5 hours round trip. Nice views (a bit obstructed by trees and snow). Very well maintained and marked trail. Lots of snow. I recommend it!
