It was a great trail, although it was too misty out to see the views, I will come back on a clearer day. Oh, also we had to turn back halfway because we ran into a bear!

It was a little snowy in places, though melting quickly through the day, I doubt it will last but be prepared for snow/puddles/mud at this point in the season. Nice gradual ascent and amazing views.

For sure it's NOT a hard hike. I'd say moderate. Absolutely stunning views at the top!

We did this hike on September 2, cool day, little bit windy...but we mostly had sun and met a half dozen mountain bikers, a few other hikers, two horseback riders and one trail runner (in a pear tree -lalala ;-)

The views were infinite. Moose Mountain was clearly visible despite the haze from the forest fires in BC and the grade wasn't too steep or rough.

Great hike! Windy at the top - bring additional layers and a windbreaker.

I’d classify it as easy. Pretty forest views.

Great fun shorter hike.

good hike with nice views at the top, not too difficult but gets your heart going. took 1.5hrs up and 1 down. could do with kids. not very busy. no challenging or technical sections.

I would rate this 'moderate' as opposed to 'hard'. Not too steep in the forest region (which is the majority of the hike), but when you start reaching the top it gets pretty steep. But for the most part, I found it fairly moderate and very enjoyable. Beautiful views at the top. An awesome way to spend a Sunday!

Nice tramp, quite steep to start!

Hiked this trail this morning and enjoyed it. We didn't run into other hikers until we were halfway down. So not very busy which is nice. Took just over 3 hours with a lengthy break at the top.

Elevation gain was not the same as posted here. Only about 542m. The elevation was gradual and the views were very enjoyable at the top of the ridge.

Distance was about 10km round trip. There is some logging in the area, but parking available very close to the trail head.

little work.... great views!

Started on Eagle and joined up with Deer Ridge. At that point the hike got steep very quickly. A lot of flat but worth the climb , Gorgeous views at the top, lots of wild flowers, and lots of forest walking.

Nice peak near Calgary. Not many people go there. It is a good place to go early in the season.

Great hike! Pretty easy through the trees, gradual incline to a beautiful view at the top. Awesome spot to have some lunch and lay in the sunshine for a bit, or continue wandering along the other trails from the summit.

Tough at the beginning, steady uphill, but easier once you hit the switchbacks. Your view is all tree line until you hit the “false summit” then it opens up to beautiful mountains and wild flowers.

Awesome trail! Quite spot so make sure to go in a group of Atleast 3 people.

Beautiful views from the top!!

A friend and I did most of this trail (I believe) in combination with a couple of others in the vicinity. We didn’t see another soul until about 2, or more, hours into it. It was so peaceful. There was about a zillion mosquitoes on one part of the trail near the lake so bug spray is a must. My poor dog got eaten alive. We ended up hiking about 16 or so km and there are some decent ups and downs so the legs were feeling it by the end of the day. All in all we liked these trails and I would definitely go again.

Just did this hike. It was beautiful! The wildflowers are in full bloom, there are several magnificent meadow near the top as well 360 degree views! Excellent

Slow incline. Great 360 views and there's a couple mini trails that veer off to a view stop. Took us 1.5-2 hours up and 45 mins down.

A hidden gem with stunning views!!! Definitely on my top 5 even though it’s a super laid back trail. If you’re looking for more of a challenge hike the ridge over to Moose Mountain.

This trail will not disappoint!!!

I’d also consider this trail family friendly.

The view at the top is unreal. Loved the fields and valleys of wildflowers along the way to the top. Steady incline and switchbacks throughout! Easy rooted trail that only gets a tad rocky before the peak. Bugspray is a must, and quite shaded for the majority of your journey... I felt particularly stoked to have am extra layer at 8:30am when we started on the trailhead. It was nippley.

An awesome trail with little traffic.

07.21.18 Beautiful morning for a hike, started at around 9:30AM. We found it to be of moderate difficulty for beginners due to mostly uphill with consistent incline. Loved the cool fresh mountain breeze through the forest. Took us about 2 hours from trailhead to peak with quick water, rest, and photo breaks. Past the trees, the grassy areas are full of pretty wild flowers. Highly recommend the last push to the peak as it offers a breathtaking 360 view of neighboring mountains and trail on the ridge. Got really windy and cold at the top, will bring windbreakers next time. Only bummer is the gravel road leading up to the trailhead. It felt like you’d never get there (or maybe miss it). Took about 25min from the Powderface Trail sign. To be fair, it is a scenic drive. Plenty of parking if you get there early.

Perfect day for this trail. We are not the most in shape hikers and we found this trail to be on the easier end of moderate. The incline is even and steady with some switchbacks so we had a lot of short one minute breaks but we made it to the top in about 2 hours. Round trip was just over 4 hours but we spent almost an hour at the top. The views at the top are 360 degrees spectacular and for very little effort. We had our dog with us and it was perfect for him, but as you’d expect there is no water source aside from the creek right at the bottom. The top was quite windy and cool but there are some trees to shelter behind. There are a decent number of bugs at the trailhead but not too bad on the trail. July 21/18

Great hike for a newbie or kids. Steady incline with smooth path. Summit is very rewarding for not too crazy of an incline. Cool paths to explore around too if you wanted to do more, there are about three signs with maps while you’re walking that makes exploring easy. Beautiful wildflowers all over the trail this time of year, July 21, 2018.

Great hike if you don’t have a lot of time. Not many views but amazing wild flowers. Decent mix of ups and flats. Ok for fit kids over about 9 years old. Trail head is not well marked, need to download the route.

Great trail, well marked,
