A decent trail mostly in the trees with a couple meadows. Not amazingly marked at some parts and if you are starting at Windy Point parking lot note you will have to cross the river right away. Overall an average trail, had fun, but probably wouldn’t go back.

Hiked from Windy point to Bluerock campground

Beautiful wildflowers and Vistas! Lovely little trail for all age and skill levels. Save time to play at the canyon/creek at the bottom.

Very overgrown, a long scramble to the top

Great quiet trail. No traffic. River is frozen so you can cross. Spring will be different.

The trail trail is washed out about 4km in but was a lovely hike and there were lots of spots where you could stop and go down to the water.

A lot of the trail is washed out at water sites.

I'm a moderate hiker so this was challenging. 3 k's 330 meter elevation uphill. but well worth the views when you get to the top.

Awesome climbs, and amazing views from the top

Was there July 14th, 2013 to "work off" the week long Calgary Stampede. The trail has suffered the same damage from the flooding that many other areas in Southern Alberta has encountered. We spoke to 4 people on horseback who turned around at the top area rest spot because of the risk from the sinkholes, however we continued on and once reaching the meadows the trail disappeared, washed away with so much silt covering any sign of the connecting trail. Reluctantly we crossed the marsh and hiked through a field before backtracking onto the same trail and returning the same route, 18KM round trip.

The Sheep River Falls are beautiful, the area along both sides of the river have some water damage but its still easily accessible.

I rode this trail about 5 years ago and I loved it. some really nice double and single track going up and down through the woods culminating in a awesome long rough fire road climb to some incredible views. Loved the long climb, was going to go down the south side from the summit but time was getting on and it looked like there was a good possibility of getting lost. I would for sure do this again as I love the suffering of a long low gear climb.
