2019-01-13 snowshoes and ice cleats not required. Path is nicely packed. If you want to veer off the trail, the snow depth is 30 to 40 cm and fluffy.

Great nice and easy hike. Great for families, or if you are looking for an easy hike/walk with awesome views and not a lot of effort. We did the trail closest to the lake on the way in and the upper trail on the way out. If you do it this way you get almost all of the elevation gain at once where the trail crosses the old rock slide. Made for a very quick and easy return.
