Good trail for a beginner hiker. First part is pretty bland, but it gets better once you actually start going up the stream. All around average.

Beautiful rocky canyon trail! Supportive footwear a must.

Easy hike. Lots of loose and big gravel. 60-80 minutes round trip. Take a coffee and enjoy the bench seat of the Bow Valley.

very stony path leading up to and through the canyon. at first I thought it wasn't that great until we got deeper and it was so awesome to be so deep down and the small waterfall was lovely to have a beer next to. can get really windy so take a wind breaker. start June still have to walk over ice for a few metres near the end but most melted. wear waterproof boots. not spectacular but was a nice change in scenery and I think worth the exploring.

Beautiful views! Short and sweet!

Always enjoy the canyon walk up to waterfalls at end. Look 3/4 way up on left for faint pictographs

Beautiful, short, and sweet.

Went out today, lots of melt! Wear waterproof boots/crampons/gators will make for a great hike!

Quick little hike. Great to see so much multi-use out of this area. Families, dogs, wildlife, rock climbers all out today. Very rocky trail, suggest good footwear and to know the possibility of getting wet feet from crossing the stream and ice on some of the rocks still.

Nice spot, really cool to be inside the canyon looking up rather than down for a change. Short and sweet - still need to be able to hike on loose gravel/stones. A little bit of ice still in some spots but a nice walk.

Still lots of ice further up the trail and plenty of places where water can't be totally avoided, so bring appropriate footwear and a stick if needed.

Easy trail. Went with dog and wife. We went past the falls about a km. Small cave and lots of people.

Took my kids out for the hike. More ice than expected but an easy hike. Enjoyed watching the crowds of tourists that were totally oblivious to the pictographs. Went as far as the waterfall.

Lots of rocks. Bring good shoes or sticks if you are going. Not a lot to see really... out of all of our hikes this was our least favourite.

Easy summer or winter hike but you gotta make sure you go at the right time. Those mid season months like march april, or october november, can cause this hike to become very sloshy or overly icy when you aren't expecting it. Bring a good windbreaker jacket because it can get windy especially by the "paintings wall". Rock climbing is decent for pros and beginners if youre looking for that as well.

Easy hike but you need your crampons or hiking sticks if visiting during the winter or early spring.

Beautiful! I very much enjoyed the cool canyon breeze, and it was nice to be out of the sun. A great leisurely hike!

Did this hike in February. Busy but very beautiful. Traction devices are recommended due to walking on the frozen creek, we saw many people falling as a result of not having any.

I was there again on April 15th, it was really, really slushy. I’d recommend gaiters! Also there was a few patches where we sank into the snow well past our knees although it made for a great laugh, it was a bit more work to get out of the snow. Still beautiful and worth the adventure. Take some extra clothes to be dry on the ride home!

will go back in the summer. only downside was the noise and scenery downer from the Plant and powerlines that was next to/through the majority of the trail

Fantastic underrated kid friendly winter trail! Make sure to have crampons or cleats (especially for little ones). Do not let the beginning of the trek fool you. Once you get past the industrial plant and into the canyon it is incredible and half the people than Johnston. My kids thought it was incredible to climb the rock sides and slide down as well as climb the frozen waterfall at the end. Take a lunch and a beverage for the end and enjoy :)

great kid friendly trail!
